Does the stock market ever stop going up? I am just going to move my net worth into short term SPY calls....

It certainly doesn't seem so.

Sure feels like I am flushing money down the toilet with the latest rebalance buying more gold and TLT!
Ocho, your 1260 just got hit! Who knew. Do you predict it will rise now?

AND....the minute I enter my depressing note, the markets reverse.
Thank God I am doing the PP.
I would otherwise be acting stupidly on these gyrations.

I'm just sitting here doing nothing, watching in amazement. I may buy more if we go down to $1200. Otherwise, I think I'm topped off. I bought at $1280, a few days too early.

Is there anything to be amazed about or are we beholders (myself definitely included) just nuts? I bought at maybe 1299; it'll be delivered soon. At first I was kind of sad to see a drop mere hours later but in the grand scheme of things does it really matter? No. If gold goes down to US$750 or up to $2000, that might matter.
If stocks crash and gold maintains ~$1280, I'll dislike gold a little less.

Yes, but not as less as if it actually went up

We do not know LTTs and gold are going to go up, we do know that at some point in the not too distant future stocks will be going down. If you are taking money out of stocks you are doing exactly the right thing at this point in time.

Yes. Feels wrong so it is probably right.

The purpose of gold is to make people look foolish. If you'd sold at $1262, you'd feel foolish today. In a little while, it may be at $1242. Who knows.

Finally an explanation for why gold is important!

You're confusing fool's gold and gold's fools.

I sold some IAU at a small profit, unwilling to fall into a loss position on this thing. Keeping vigilant for a lower entry point. Keeping all my physical.

Aiyaiyai, I would love to be able to sell my ETFs at just breakeven.

Maybe your children can...

mid-forties (gosh, is that right?! I guess it's right). No direct heirs, but I do plan to leave my physical coins to my nieces and nephews, the lucky lil' bastards.

Remind me not to follow your anti-aging advice if that's your picture.

I'm far more handsome.
Larry didn't even look that good when he was young.
Richard Lewis did, though. According to my wife, who obviously has exquisite taste.

Yeah, no kidding. Big moves are more interesting, though, admit it.
