Continuing with my dutasteride + minoxidil combo. My hair density has grown back enough that I have that "hair helmet" effect going on again! O0

Some (most?) guys have nowhere near the level of self-consciousness that I do. And to be fair, some men actually look better rocking the bald look.

Either way, I've recovered a lot of my old self-confidence back thanks to the dutasteride and minoxidil combo. From what I understand about hair loss, hair follicles on the scalp are a lot like the teeth in your mouth. Once they're gone they're gone! (Though the process can take something like 2 to 4 years for a follicle to die.) Preservation is our best defence!

My hair rarely is >1/4" long. Now that it's mostly gray, a picture from the right orientation looks like I shave my head.

I have kept my hair this short since my 20s, with clippers in the basement. I never cared too much about thinning hair.

If I had a option to be hairless, except for maybe eyebrows, I'd go for it. It's mostly a pain in the ass, and starts growing where you don't want it when you get older, nose, ears, etc. ^-^

I'm fine with the way I look. Most of the women I know are too short to see the thinning at the top. O0 Still, I would love to reverse it.

I’m thicker than a Snickers.

I just ordered Jordan Peterson's next book! It's called "Beyond Order: 12 More Rules For Life". I'm very, very excited for this.

That last part (34) might be good for the daytrader thread. :D

I'm DONE!! DONE! WOOHOO!!!!

Some takeaways and stuff I was tested on:

- Basic binary and hexadecimcal arithmetic. This also included conversion from one base to the other.
- Writing programs in assembly
- Explaining the dynamics of CPU caches, how they're organized, and how to optimize code to minimize misses
- Processor pipelining
- Explaining compilation, linking, symbol resolution, and DLLs
- Basic algorithms in C
- Logic gates
- Calculating things like hard drive access time, branch misprediction penalties, and SSD lifetimes

I have a much greater appreciation for how computers work under the hood now. Especially with the binary, assembly, and logic gate stuff I can really see computers as machines now. A computer isn't arcane anymore. It's just a box of zillions of switches. Everything that goes on inside is perfectly comprehendible.

Now for some rest and relaxation with food and video games!

Sounds like a great foundation. Congratulations and best wishes on the results.

Congratulations! Looks like you learned a tremendous amount. Warming: I may be asking you certain questions about computers in the future!

Was there a specific textbook you used or was it a variety of sources?

Thank you!

There are a few textbooks that have been the bane of my academic life, but the biggest thorn in my side has definitely been "Computer Systems: A Programmer's Perspective."

I am always a buy if given the option over a rent.
