The pp is still right in there with other portfolios of equal or close equity allocations that have no gold .

The model I use is doing slightly better then the pp and has totally different holdings although same equity levels but certainly not a lot of difference between them .

If anything I think some may have thought the pp would have stood up better than it did with its defensive assets but overall it’s doing not much worse then comparable portfolios.

So I can’t say anything negative about it in this downturn other then it may have not lived up to the expectations some had ..

All we heard was just wait for the downturn in stocks and now that it has happened the pp is down the same as other comparable portfolios so perhaps there is some disappointment if anything

It stinks. LTT’s are down 20%+ and Gold is treading water. Garbage.

It may be disappointing in the fact many believed it would have its day in the sun when stocks tanked but it is no worse then other comparable portfolios that have no gold or little to no long term treasuries

Sorry for being ignorant, but did not have time today to read the news for US - what's the current 'explanation' for the S&P/QQQ down days ?

In EU we had the ECB announcement yesterday, which might serve as some explanation ...

Inflation CPI higher than expected. So the freakout continues.

I knew I should have gone 100% Smuckers yesterday but I just didn’t have the guts.

Thanks !
Ah, ok, that explains indeed ;D

Market looks a bit ugly at the moment, indeed. For the moment my investment faith is mainly about investments in some good time I plan to spend with my family during the summer (Greece and around). Let the s&p go to hell ...

We knew rising rates are the PP weak spot. Gold and LTTs do well in other types of shocks.

Just to make you feel better (or less worse)

Check out the YTD in the LHS column. All the portfolios are in the red.
If it were just the PP in the red it would be a different matter....

As my benchmark for conservative investing I use the pp , the fidelity insight income model which I use and wellesly .

While the pp is doing the worst of the three this year they are all within a percent or two of each other
