Most varieties of Shiner are really good, especially the classic Bock.  But they're not really craft anymore.

This is the best craft beer I've ever had:

I don't generally like wheat beer, but I thought their Crooked Heffy was delicious!

When I'm in the mood for a dark, malty, complex beer, my favorites are Deschutes The Abyss and Firestone Parabola. They're quite expensive and not always available, though, so they're not everyday beers. For a more reasonably priced, everyday beer that's still fairly malty and complex, I like Deschutes Black Butte Porter.

When I'm in the mood for a bright, hoppy--and still fairly strong--beer, one of my favorite IPAs is Ballast Point Sculpin IPA. Their regular pale ale is pretty good, too (I forget the name).

For a more balanced, everyday kind of beer, I really like Anchor Steam.

Ah Shiner Bock -crafted in the Spoetzel brewery in Shiner Texas an hour or so outside San Antonio.  Toured the brewery last year.  The only 2 businesses in this dinky little town are Kaspar Wireworks (Texas Precious Metals) and the brewery.

If you find some Fassla, I'd recommend buying it.
You there, Ephialtes. May you live forever.

If you want to try something really different, pick up some Hazed and Infused, it's made by Boulder Beer.  It's one of my favorite beers, very hoppy and aromatic, unlike any other beer I've tried.

I don't always drink beer, but when I do I prefer Blue Moon with an orange slice. You're right that it has gone mainstream because you can now get it on draft at most of the chain restaurants like Chili's where I had it last night.

Shock top is almost as good.
