Definitely a worthwhile read. I didn't agree with all of his views on romantic relationships but the point of the book is that everyone gets to make up their own rules for things like that.

It's a great read. You will not agree with 100% of what Browne says (and that's kind of the point of the book!) Probably one of the most mind-expanding books I've read. It's basically Browne applying his considerable critical thinking skills to the world as it is with that same calm, grandfatherly tone that you find in "Fail-Safe Investing".
I found the ideas in one portion of the book somewhat upsetting and took a break from it for a while. I came back to it after several weeks better prepared and finished it. Very glad that I did!

I've purchased and read:
"99% of All You Need to Know About MONEY and its Effect Upon the Economy" - Great explanation of the function of money (and how we got to where we are today.)
"Fail-Safe Investing" - Literally the book on the Permanent Portfolio. The reason most of us are here.
"Why Government Doesn’t Work" - Browne convincingly lays out the reasons why the government should be far smaller than it is today, how it functioned when it was much smaller, and how to get there. Contains elegant (though politically unlikely) solutions for unwinding entitlements, fixing the health care system, and much more.
"Why the Best-Laid Investment Plans Usually Go Wrong" - Dated material but the first half is a complete dismantling of the "fortune-telling" side of investing. Who can predict the future? Nobody, that's why. (I don't think there's an eBook version of this one, unfortunately.)
