I haven't participated at any treasury auctions at Vanguard this quarter, but the word over at bogleheads is that things are easier now. As with Fidelity, we (supposedly) can now buy $1,000 worth of bonds at a time instead of $10,000, even if you prefer auctions over the secondary market.
I'm reading this now

but the true test will be when I begin to place my next order.
No more 10K minimum on bonds at Vanguard (maybe)

Re: No more 10K minimum on bonds at Vanguard (maybe)
Update: yup, it's true.
I bought some 3-YR's recently, and there was no 10K minimum.
I think most of you just buy on the secondary market, but if there are any other auction participants out there, there we are.
