Vinny privately told me that he gave the kid 2 candy corns, a tootsie roll, and one of those mini kitkat bars, which constitutes 0.083% of the candy he’d prepared for the neighborhood. Had he known that this was going to be the sole bell-ringer, Vinny would have upped that to ten candy corns, five tootsie rolls, and 2 kitkat bars.

He purchased the items on October 25, 1:31pm after picking up 27 lbs of cat food and whatever mice eat.
;D

And a fresh jar of liquid nitrogen fertilizer.

Awesome! I've always wanted to see him. Dave Chappelle is also high on my list.

I'm particularly impressed at Louis CK's career comeback after his hotel room scandal.

Stand up in person is always so much better than on screen, too.

You’re right. I think this was my first stand-up experience in person, with a big name. I’ve been to smaller comedy clubs in the past. My dream show would be Ricky Gervais, but he and CK aren’t that different.

Have seen most of Dave Chappelle’s Netflix specials. Amazing. Not to mention his older show.

Plenty of women in the audience for Louis CK. Perhaps he’s forgiven? Partially.

It’s getting harder for me to tell what videos are A.I.-generated. I mean there is plenty of so-called AI slop that I can detect. But there are others that fool me and then I go back for a second look…and I’m still not sure.

As a kid I loved Bill Cosby and bought most of his records, which I still have.

However, as an adult I'm distinctly unimpressed with comedians. I don't find much of what they say to be at all funny.

The telling point for me is when I hear an ad for one, which is presumably supposed to be their best, yet none of it is funny.

Also, the few times I've heard more than a snippet of a comedian's show it feels like junior high school. No matter what they say the crowd responds with uproarious laughter at, again, which I don't find funny in the least.

I'm forgetting what I saw on the internet yesterday or the day before but it was genuinely funny.

I'm for humor but it has to be genuinely funny.

Totally agree, Vinny. I was between my friends and a stranger, and the stranger was laughing so much at the beginning that I had to wonder if it was forced. He was then “dry” for a while.

But, I had wet eyes from laughing quietly. It was a real and sustained laugh.

However, as an adult I'm distinctly unimpressed with comedians.
It really depends on the comic. Not everyone makes me laugh, but Louis CK is the right age — he could be my older brother — and in fact some of the age content hit a little too close to home. O0 He’s just good.

The thing I like about jokes is that they’re real. Even if I find out that an AI constructed them, I won’t care. That’s harmless. A funny joke is a funny joke.

It goes without saying that as an adult, I no longer find Cosby funny. O0

How would any of his later life actions affect one appreciating the humor in those records from the 60s? It was either funny or not, irrespective of whatever he did in later life.

Do any of know truly know how any comedians / actors / athletes truly are beyond what they expose to us in public?

Well, that’s a fair question. Just thinking out loud here:

I grew up with Bill Cosby, but I didn’t find most of his content funny in the first place. (I know he was immensely popular). Maybe just ‘Fat Albert.’ Didn’t like his stand-up or other shows, although I guess I Spy wasn’t supposed to be that funny.

But here’s an example: Louis CK didn’t rape anyone but he did, as you probably know get into trouble for pleasuring himself in front of women, without permission. Do I find him less funny because of that?. I guess not.

Dave Chappelle. I still love his work and might pay to go to a show if he comes to town. It would depend on if my friends are going. Also, he didn’t rape anyone. Didn’t even pleasure himself in front of one. What did he do? He kind of offended me with two topics and I cringed when I heard them. Cringe is the right word. I suppose I wasn’t offended.
Do I find his other material less funny because of the the not-funny, cringey material? I suppose not.

So, the answer to your question is, I shouldn’t find Bill Cosby less funny now just because he drugged and raped women- wait, that doesn’t sound right, either!

I do find it harder to listen to Roger Waters now. Not sure if that counts.

When I listened to Bill Cosby it was in the 60s, when I was in junior / senior high school. It was only through my records. My friend and I thought he was hilarious at the time. I don't think I have listened to any of those records since. Never saw anything of that vein on TV. I only saw him on TV in I Spy, which was not a comedy show at all.

There are a lot of basketball fans who still worship Kobe Bryant. After what he did I had no use for him. Great basketball player but terrible person. His actions regarding that woman is the first thing that comes to mind when I hear his name.

I know that Kobe was on trial for rape and he definitely cheated, but I didn’t think it was a guilty verdict. Was it? I’ll have to look that up.

On Saturday Night Live they had a guy playing him, saying, “I hate this!”
Maya Rudolph, playing his wife, said, “You know what I hate? Going to my husband’s rape trial.”
Now that’s funny! 😂

How about this. Take your pick. He's either a rapist (which I believe) or an adulterer, which he admitted. You'd want your daughter to marry him?

"Kobe Bryant was accused of sexual assault in July 2003 by a 19-year-old hotel concierge named Katelyn Faber in Colorado. According to Faber, what began as consensual flirtation and kissing escalated into nonconsensual sexual assault, where Bryant physically restrained her and did not stop despite her asking him to. Bryant denied the accusation and claimed the encounter was consensual. The criminal case did not go to trial because the accuser chose not to testify, leading to the charges being dropped. A civil suit was later settled out of court.

At the time of the incident, Kobe Bryant was married to Vanessa Bryant. They had been married since 2001 and had one daughter then, with another daughter born later in 2006. Bryant publicly expressed love for his wife throughout the legal proceedings and admitted guilt only to adultery, not assault.

The case and the surrounding details were highly controversial and impacted Bryant's public image, though he later regained much of his status and continued a successful NBA career until retirement. The evidence and allegations suggested nonconsensual behavior according to the accuser, but legally Bryant was never convicted as the criminal charges were dropped.

Thus, aside from the legal verdict (which was no conviction), the accusation and details presented by the accuser indicate that an act of sexual assault may have occurred, while Bryant maintained it was consensual. Bryant was indeed married at the time of the incident."

Well, if I had to choose between Kobe and Cosby marrying my daughter, I’d choose Kobe.

I'm curious about what offended you, if you don't mind sharing.
