There are lots of smart / motivated / educated people in many other places who perform no more than average. IF he really was a genius ... you cannot mentor that.

Hey, he’s not dead yet! O0 Must we use the past tense?

It was somewhat using the tense in relation to my initial questions. Talking about the future, without him here.

"Who do you see making investment decisions in his absence? What is then so special about it without him there?"

Well you have my answer. I’m not trying to sell you on Berkshire shares, but I am continuing to hold them.

This is related to being a Buffett / Munger follower / appreciator:

I discuss some of the strategies favored by Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger.

On Reddit, the panic has begun

r/fidelityinvestments

Keep calm about your 401ks

Discussion

Please do not panic about your 401k(s) staying down. It will go up. It has always been like this where the 401k goes up, down and back up. It will not stay down. If there are any evidence for 401k or even IRA to stay down, please let me know.

What are your thoughts?

That is some activity!

From the little I've been on Reddit .. it seems that most of the responses are a few words or a few sentences at most. Are there many responses that are actually paragraphs in length, like we have here?

You were quoting below in which I presented:

1) URL
2) Title
3) Subtitle

Nothing of me after my initial introduction before URL.

There wasn't anything (like quoting) to make it clear who was saying what. I've heard it many times here that it's up to the speaker/writer to make sure that his meaning is clear, rather than leaving it up to the listener/reader to figure it out.

I believe Vinny himself has made such claims!

Sorry.

I thought it was clear and apparent that I had been making introductory comments before presenting information from the article. Plus, I never thought anyone would ever interpret that sentence as having been written by me (which I found somewhat bizarre to think that since that behavior would be totally outside of my well-established character here).

It was obvious that comment was directed at me.

I generally say it in the context that the burden of the communications being understood is on the sender and not the receiver.

This is in response to people using acronyms, abbreviations, no context for what they are responding to, and so on.

I’m sorry, Vin, I didn’t mean to cause such a fuss. It was apparent, or at least not that hard to figure out. I was being facetious. But, would it kill you to put some quote marks in there? O0
They don’t even have to be the

Code: Select all

tags. You could just type “” on the keyboard, then arrow back so the cursor is between the marks, like “|” and then paste.

If not, no big deal. You’re far from being the only person who just dumps the clipboard like that. It’s not as bad as people who post with zero periods between sentences (probably dictated from a phone) on reddit.

In summary: just teasing, all is well, carry on.

I will TRY to comply with the above suggestions as made by the punctilious man known as dualstow!
