Realized it was a lost cause when conservatives, who had been railing against lockdown, instantly forgave Trump and moved on to the next culture war. The tribalism is insurmountable. People just want the fight

Rand Paul keeps talking about lab leaks which is a red herring. Pushes the Leftist/Socialist narrative that C19 martial law was justified. Doesnt matter what leaks, respiratory viruses burn themselves out by definition and governments are more dangerous than they are, as history has shown.

Every month theres a new fun fact that I realize. This month its that the mandates allowed you to take a non-mRNA inoculation using the old tech. But we've never had a working cold shot. . .

What does that mean? A shot for the common cold virus?

Mark Zuckerberg says Meta was ‘pressured’ by Biden administration to censor Covid-related content in 2021
CNN, yesterday
Mark Zuckerberg, chairman and CEO of the social media company Meta, said in a letter to the House Judiciary committee on Monday that his teams were “pressured” by the Biden White House to censor some content around the Covid-19 pandemic.

Zuckerberg in the letter also said the FBI warned his company about potential Russian disinformation around Hunter Biden and the Ukrainian firm Burisma affecting the 2020 election. That fall, Zuckerberg said, his team temporarily demoted reporting from the New York Post alleging Biden family corruption while their fact-checkers could review the story. Zuckerberg said that since then, it has “been made clear that the reporting was not Russian disinformation, and in retrospect, we shouldn’t have demoted the story.”

Biden preemptively pardons Fauci. Not a good look for a guy who supposedly did nothing wrong.

Well of course they’ll say they assume the administration would go after him whether he’s guilty or not.
But I’m curious- how long has this preemptive pardon been allowed?

When it comes to "justice" the facts are too oftentimes irrelevant.

Would you deny that is not a valid concern given Trump's repeated words regarding the matter?

Since we are on Trump this is what I put on Facebook in the last half-hour:

"Just heard it all.
I give it a grade of D!
Scary that so many people were standing up and cheering it throughout."

Also, earlier in the morning wrote this email to someone:

"Just now seeing Biden on TV ... my immediate response was: "Good riddance!""

I certainly DO hope they "go after" him. Don't even really care about a conviction (which is impossible now post-pardon anyway). But I think we do need a thorough investigation of who knew what when, to the extent possible what motivations people had. Just for learning so we can do better next time. In fact pardon everybody: that takes away (some) incentives to lie as well as removes the ability to take the 5th. I just want to get to the bottom of it. Like an NTSB investigation.

What I would expect/hope to come out of it is a new doctrine in public health that "noble lies" are not okay and are never to be employed.

Can a presidential pardon be overturned by the Supreme Court?

Almost 100% certain that it cannot.

On what basis could it?

Clearly the law allows presidents to pardon so what law is being violated by any pardon?

Gain of function never stopped and will never stop. Because foreign adversaries will not stop. Same for AI killbots. Not a big deal for respiratory viruses because the sicker they make the host, the less they can spread. We've been co-evolving with them for millennia.

Fauci's pardon is clever, it redirects the narrative from the only thing that matters, the constitutional violations. ie it maintains the narrative that if theres another lab leak, we can be caged again. well, whatever. The far right doesnt care either, there has to be one bad person to blame. And one hero, for now Donald. Like a movie.

I was just reading some posts by Chris Cillizza about how once upon a time, he announced that Fauci had "crushed" Trump's lab leak theory. And of course following up about how Fauci was wrong and Trump was right.
With all the crazy stuff D.T. says, or rather, the way the media chops it up and presents it, I never would have thought it would play out like this.
