Robinhood Gold card

Post by ppnewbie »

Anyone have this card. It’s 3 percent cash back on all purchases with essentially only a $60 yearly fee. My main concern is that I don’t really trust Robinhood for keeping the 3 percent. I think the card started out at 4 percent.

I have two Citi Custom Cash so always get 5% on grocery and gas

Vanguard fell out of bed and dumped solo 401ks to another company

So I'm leaving them entirely, might do this for 4% back card

Would an entity named "Robin Hood" ever be trustworthy to hold investment assets? Seems like a complete clanger of a name.

Way, way, way, way too many other things that one must have to do to get that 4%.

I prefer only applying for the credit card and then I'm done.

I just applied and was approved. However, you only get to chose one top category. You are accomplishing the above by having two distinct cards? Credit Card companies will issues you two of the same card?

I would definitely not use them to hold any investments or money but would be happy for them to loan me money in the form of a credit card I pay off monthly and get three percent back.

I am on the waiting list but don’t know if I have to join the Robinhood gold program before I can get off the list.

I did some test calls to Robinhood support and my experience was horrendous. The cash back is amazing but getting a simple answer across a VoIP call to some person on the other end of the world was almost comical. Next I called Fidelity about about a slightly complicated brokerage and tax question and I was (as usual) impressed by the detailed explanation.

Even though 3 percent cash back on all purchases a $60/year fee is amazing, I am going to steer clear of Robinhood.
