You are responsible for bringing your own jars.

I've got some here, but most of them are pretty small. They're from my favourite condiment: XO sauce.

Good stuff. I’ll try not to think about it next time I use the sauce

Both me and my fiance love to simply mix it with white rice and just eat that as a meal.

Hilarious! I would break out if I did that. Then again I break out if I have peanut butter rice. Or soda. Or any…food

You have a lot of food sensitivities?
I recently found out via blood test that I’m lactose intolerant. I’m currently cutting out dairy to see the effect.
Bye bye cheese.

Never fear. We shall never think of you as being or having cheesy outputs … regardless of your new non-cheese input. LOL

Re: Daily "Check In" Thread For Us
I don’t have any food allergies.
Citrus gives me a stomach ache. I used to have trouble with cocktails until I realized it was the lemon and not the vodka
Have been lactose intolerant since college, but I just time it well. No morning obligations? Pizza night!
You might also google FODMAP. I don’t know that it has survived peer reviews, but it seems to work for me, e.g. being careful about garlic and onion and having asafoetida instead.
Chocolate and soda and all the best teas make me break out; coffee does not <shrug>

Food/diet stuff is one of things that just makes my head spin. Sometimes over the years I thought I had something about my diet figured out. I cut something out of my diet and I felt better, then 2 months later the symptom came back.dualstow wrote: ↑Tue Mar 19, 2024 4:00 pmI don’t have any food allergies.

And there's so much conflicting info. There's only 2 things I'm sure of: 1) drinking water is good for you, 2) weight loss is about calories in versus calories out. That's pretty much it. Even fruits and vegetables are suspect in certain schools of dietary thought.

Mine are all exactly two cups because they are all these:

Most peanut butter has palm oil in it which some dont trust. Check the label for just peanuts and salt as ingredients. Leave it upside down overnight, then stir and store in fridge

Re: Daily "Check In" Thread For Us
"Palm oil, palm kernel oil, and coconut oil — the so-called tropical oils — got a bad reputation because they're high in saturated fat, which has long been linked to heart disease. Saturated fat boosts "bad" LDL cholesterol and triglycerides, both of which are risk factors for heart disease. Palm oil, which is 50% saturated, has a more favorable fatty acid composition than palm kernel oil and coconut oil, which are more than 85% saturated. In general, the higher the saturated fat content, the more solid a fat is at room temperature. Palm oil is semisolid at room temperature but can be processed into a liquid cooking oil."
So thats why its less oily in the PB and why some say its unhealthy. Not sure about the latter, if you exercise enough. Still might as well avoid it.

Have you introduced foods to your fiancee that she never had before? Besides XO sauce.

It's mostly her introducing me to new foods since I don't cook.
Thanks to her I tasted borscht for the first time! Yummy and healthy.

I love borscht. I don’t know if that’s a stock photo or hers but it looks better than any borscht I’ve ever had.
I thought maybe you’d be introducing her to Hong Kong delights.

Just a stock photo. Hers looked pretty similar though! Just without the fancy lighting haha.

What's everyone doing today?
The fiance and I are planning our next travel adventures. Vancouver is a natural, but after that is Asia. Hong Kong, Thailand, etc.

I used to live in Thailand.
What I'm doing: paying utility bills, paying taxes. The utilities' websites are so broken; they don't make it easy.
