Just purchased an Eagle proof set (1oz, 1/2oz, 1/4oz, 1/10oz) at 6% over spot. Think I did OK on it. I love proofs because they are extra shiny and you can take take the coins out of the capsules. Got them from my local dealer.

@tomfoolery - thanks for the advice. I’ll probably end up creating a simplified version of that system.

Very nice!

They are usually priced good when bundled like this. Also very good to get from an LCS you can have a relationship with.

Best Gold Eagle deal = random year Gold Eagle 1 oz for $1,941 (5.8% over spot) from https://bullionexchanges.com/1-oz-ameri ... prices.com

Best fractional gold deal = 0.242 oz US commemorative coin for $455 (2.5% over spot) from https://sdbullion.com/5-us-commemorativ ... prices.com

Cheapest quality gold (that isn't a large amount) = 1 oz sovereign gold coin random design $1,883 (2.6% over spot) from https://sdbullion.com/random-1-oz-gold- ... prices.com

Best overall = The random 1 oz sovereign coin. It will probably never fetch as much on resale but saves you $58 today and free shipping.

FWIW - I have purchased from all the of these companies and trust them fully.

Bonus best silver deal - 10oz bars for $261 (4.9% over spot) from https://silvergoldbull.com/10oz-pure-si ... 430a24060c

I haven't read this whole thread, but I was wondering if you have used Bold personally? Anyone else?
I found them mentioned in this silver thread when I was googling why Apmex prices are almost always higher.
https://www.reddit.com/r/Silverbugs/com ... expensive/

Bold, e.g. / 2021 American Gold Eagle 1.24.21 5pmEST \

Silver Doctors I believe. They have a great podcast of the same name and also an offshoot podcast called Rethinking The Dollar. It's a little cooky. I am big fan of both.

Best Gold Eagle deal = 2021 Gold Eagle 1 oz for $1,941 (4.6% over spot) from https://www.bgasc.com/product/2021-amer ... ID=1016390

Best fractional gold deal = 10 gram random bar for $616 (3.35% over spot) from https://sdbullion.com/10-gram-gold-bar? ... prices.com

Cheapest quality gold (that isn't a large amount) = 1 oz random design bar for $1,904 (2.65% over spot) from https://silvergoldbull.com/1oz-gold-bar ... xOfDB8WXww

Best overall = The Eagle. You only save $35 buying the random gold bar. I'm certain you'll always be able to sell the Eagle for $35 more regardless of what the price of gold does. The Gold Eagle is the most liquid gold product probably world wide so it should be the first considered unless there's a really incredible deal out there that beats it. Not this week.

FWIW - I have purchased from all the of these companies and trust them fully.

Bonus best silver deal - 1 kilo bars for $928 (6.5% over spot) from https://boldpreciousmetals.com/product/ ... prices.com

That is not bad at all for krugerrands.

They always have a high premium. This is less than 10% which is the lowest I've ever seen.

If you're willing to plunk down 2k for junk silver or 2.8k for 100oz bars you can cut the premium in half.

*** i am seeing silver bullion getting sold out all over the place. The reddit crowd is scooping it up. Love it. Guys buy physical, get to your LCS. It feels like a big move is coming.

I noticed your silver posting was out of stock! Let’s see if the Wall Street Bets crowd drive up the price. Been watching it closely and It has not moved that much yet.

Also I wonder if it will be hard to cash in on physical silver during a clear market manipulation. You will need a dealer willing to buy from you. Which they may be hesitant to do unless they know they have a willing buyer waiting.

Depending on the type of silver they can also send it to refineries to be melted and used for industry. It will go for less than spot most likely if they're doing that.

ASE's carry no liquidity risk i think. You should ALWAYS get spot or higher for them.

There is history in 1980 and 2011 when this happened. I've read about it. Might look it up tomorrow.

Yup the deals keep selling out and now I'm seeing some dealers say they won't take orders until global markets open on Sunday. I never saw that before.

I have checked the online silver deals every day for years. I have never seen anything like this before.

Everything is disappearing.

The only things you can buy have high premiums and most dealers aren't accepting new orders.

This will be fun to watch.

I thought I was just tired and not thinking clearly last night when I was looking at silver bars. As I looked at each one, when I went back to the main silver pages they would be unavailable, just minutes later. Wild.

Apmex sent a notice to customers. They said they saw 6x demand of a typical weekday and 12x demand for a typical weekend.

BRUTAL PREMIUMS THIS WEEK!!! Buyer beware. However, If we ever have a currency crisis or loss of confidence in paper gold and silver these premiums will be a joke.

Best Gold Eagle deal = Random Year 1 oz for $1,974 (8% over spot) from https://bullionexchanges.com/1-oz-ameri ... prices.com

Best fractional gold deal = .242 oz US commemorative coin for $461 (4.7% over spot) from https://bullionexchanges.com/us-mint-go ... prices.com

Cheapest quality gold (that isn't a large amount) = 1 oz random design bar for $1,896 (4.1% over spot) from https://monumentmetals.com/gold-bar-ran ... prices.com

Best overall = Tough call. If you've got 2 grand the random bar really ain't bad. Eagles are out for this .

FWIW - I have purchased from all the of these companies and trust them fully.

Bonus best silver deal - 1 oz random silver rounds for $31.54 (16.1% over spot) from https://monumentmetals.com/1-oz-999-sil ... prices.com

What am I buying this week? - Nothing. Bought 40 2-oz queen's beast silver GBP coins last week for $59.50. Feeling good about that, they're up about 15% this week if you can find them.

Yup. Best to buy gold when it's cheaper.
Best Gold Eagle deal = Random Year 1 oz for $1,974 (8% over spot) from https://bullionexchanges.com/1-oz-ameri ... prices.com
FYI, if you are going to buy 4, you might want to buy them from Colorado Gold. Even with the <7 surcharge, 4 Eagles will come out to $1,973.29.

If you buy 7 they are $1,967.

Damn KS....7?

If you're buying that much gold this weekend, just get this sonofabitch at $1,879 / oz: https://www.jmbullion.com/250-gram-valc ... prices.com

Thanks for this. It is very helpful. This helps me compare prices to my local shop and also kicks me into gear periodically - I’ve been buying from my local shop. So glad I built a relationship of mutual trust with them.

I feel a little annoyed with myself for mostly giving silver short shrift for so long and then following the herd. Silver had a 115 gold / silver ratio not too ago. Luckily I was not totally negligent.

On a side note.
I will say that Pamp kilos have excellent fondle value.

Thanks again!
