So this is a little over 7% over spot for a proof eagle set

https://sdbullion.com/us-mint-gold-eagl ... andom-year

You have to pony up 3.7k.

I did this about 2 months ago, got a 2010 set. Gorgeous. Great price considering you're get 3 fractional proof eagles and a 1oz

Thanks for the input all. And thank you for the links, Somedude. I'd jump on that if I wasn't poor.

Every Saturday I'll post the 2 or 3 best deals i see on gold.

I just pulled the trigger on the 2008 MS69 proof eagle set. Final price was $3,677 with gold ask at 1,907. On 1.85oz that's 4.3% over spot.........on proof eagles. And three of the coins are fractional. That is as good as it gets. Buying those 4 coins separately is probably $150 more.

I would have loved to wait for another pullback on spot price but i think its less than a 50% chance we'll get one. I expect fireworks in DC on the 6th and we could see gold going up a few hundred dollars very quickly.

Or not.

That really is a fantastic deal. I am very tempted. If I run across good deals I’ll add them to this thread as well.

Would love to grab one or two of these:

that WAS a great deal ppnewbie. I checked it minutes after you posted and priced it. Then I checked again 10 min later and it was sold out.

Really an unreal deal for 1 gram sovereign coins. That is gold so small you could actually reasonably barter with it even for day to day items.

I should have jumped on that - I had just purchased an a set of MS-70 1,0.5,.25,0.1 eagles. And thought I can’t do another one so quick. I should have done it. Those go for something like 15 percent premiums. Anyway keep the deals coming if you have them - both of those have been fantastic.

Yup I had just purchased a set of proof MS-69 eagles. Don't boast about the MS-70 :)

No just a goldbug. It fascinated me for some reason. Maybe a little line Gollum from Lord of the Rings. The only reason I bought the graded coins is because my local dealer had them at a decent premium 7%. I actually like to be able to touch my gold, so the graded stuff is a little annoying. If I had purchased those gram maples, I probably would have kept one in my wallet.

AHAHAH yesssssss.........

I LOVE to touch my gold. I HATE slabs. Getting these MS 69 coins will kill me but the price was so damn good.

Having the 1 gram in the pocket would be sweet. I have a silver Eagle in a capsule in my car center counsel for when I want to fondle real money and I'm not home.

If you don't have a Britannia.....make it your next purchase. TRUST me. I don't have a 2021 but it looks like the best sovereign coin ever minted. I have a 2020 and it's spectacularly beautiful.

Join the club! The MapleGram is very satisfying to have in the wallet at all times. You never know when hyperinflation might strike! ;D
I still find the James Rickards portfolio fascinating.

JM Bullion has excellent prices on some 50g bars at the moment.

4% over spot for this cool bar.
https://www.jmbullion.com/50-gram-argor ... -gold-bar/

And 6.5 percent over spot for 50g combibars

That bar looks like a rainbow. It's something else for sure. I prefer coins but it's very unique. I'm sure a dealer will still just give you spot but that isn't bad.

the 50g combibar is the best price I've ever seen on that item.

I just got 2 of the $5 dollar quarter oz coins today delivered. An eagle on one and James Madison on the other. They look good. Came in capsules. I think they were about 2% over spot.

Any idea how that spectral response is done?
Is there a plastic hologram overlaying the bar? Or do they emboss a diffraction grating directly onto the metal?

If there is no overlay, and it is just pure gold, a diffraction grating is the only method I can imagine. Pretty snazzy, if so.

After you buy all that you are going to buy, add it to this thread please. Two percent over spot is amazing. Also Let us know your experience with JM Bullion. I use APMEX mostly but JM seems to have excellent deals and would start buying from them if there is general good feedback.

I've bought 8 times from JM buillion since 2018 and never had a problem. In looking back at my orders, they were all for silver. Looks like they usually have better silver deals than gold, at least when I scan everything which is weekly.

I have had good success with SDbullion, JMbullion, Provident Metals (now owned by JM), APMEX (very turn around time), Monument Metals, Moneymetals, and a few others. I got a great price on a 100oz silver bar earlier in the year from Scottsdale mint but it took about 6-8 weeks to get to me. I don't blame them though, that's when silver dropped to $14 and sales were insane, no one could keep up with the orders.

Do not hesitate to by from JM, although as usual, I just looked at their deals and the best prices are on silver right now. Not that great today.

I'll post later on what I see as the best gold and silver deals out there today. Friday's gold sell-off is a gift. Biden said yesterday they are going to pass another several trillion dollar stimulus (sedative) for the economy. It will all be printed money. The purchasing power will come from the bondholders.

As of right now this is what I see as the deals for PHYSICAL gold (is there any other kind? lol).

Best Gold Eagle deal = 2021 Gold Eagle 1 oz for $1,939 (4.4% over spot) from https://www.bgasc.com/product/2021-amer ... ID=1016390

Best fractional gold deal = 0.242 oz US commemorative coin for $464 (3.4% over spot) from https://bullionexchanges.com/us-mint-go ... prices.com

Cheapest quality gold (that isn't a large amount) = 1 oz Royal Canadian bar for $1,907 (2.7% over spot) from https://boldpreciousmetals.com/product/ ... prices.com

Best overall = The gold Eagle up top in my opinion

What did I just order = 2021 1 oz Britannia for $1,914 (3.1% over spot) from https://www.bgasc.com/product/2021-gold ... ID=1016390

I was going to get a 2021 Britannia anyway. I think it's the best sovereign bullion coin in the work right now for beauty and security. It's not as liquid as the AGE and it will sell for less someday I'm sure, but I'll save 25 bucks today and enjoy it.

FWIW - I have purchased from all the of these companies and trust them fully. There were some other items in close competition but I would never recommend a company I hadn't already bought from.

What’s your take on the security of echecks? I am concerned about adding bank account (echeck) info for several different dealers. Most of the research I’ve done on echeck security seemed to say it is low risk. But...I don’t usually believe what I read unless I verify a few times over.

I use it for convenience and don't worry about it. I keep very little in my checking, never more than 10k. When it gets close to 10k I'm always buying more gold!

It's much faster. But i would say don't do it you're worried, just expect 5-10 more biz days before you get your gold.
