Slogans for Protest Signs
I'm going to my fourth rally this year to protest the curtailment of our civil liberties and the expansion of the authoritarian state. The focus will be everything from mandatory masks and vaccines to the killing of small business, the attack on the constitution, the abdication of the rule of law, and the rise of the technocratic state. I've committed to making 6 or 7 signs, and after having made more than 40 already in advance of previous rallies, I'm short on ideas.
Could I pick you'all's brains for some short but effective slogans that I could put on signs?

Re: Slogans for Protest Signs
"I prefer dangerous freedom to peaceful slavery."
"My constitutional rights are essential."
"My body, my choice."
"Fear is the real virus."
"Give me Liberty or give me Covid 19."
Those are a few that came to mind.

I like that one
Abolish ICE
A constitutionalist like me would say that it's the province of Congress to make immigration law, and the duty of the executive to enforce it.
Abolish DHS
Absolutely. And a whole lot of other agencies.
End Qualified Immunity
I can get with that
End Civil Asset Forfeiture
Definitely--an important due process issue
ACAB
Don't know what that means
Accountability for Killer Cops
We don't see much of that around here; the sheriffs are our friends and neighbors. They treat the community well and get a lot of respect for that.

If you are going to be dealing with Antifa thugs, I think they could use some advice right now that is straight out of the 60's - Make Love Not War
Re: Slogans for Protest Signs
No Antifa thugs expected. Protests around here tend to have the feel of an old-fashioned picnic after church. There is, however, one old coot who tends to show up in a g-string and a cowboy hat. Not much that can be done about that.

How about the old standby:
"Legalize Freedom"
"Legalize Freedom"
Re: Slogans for Protest Signs
Oh, I really, really like that one.

Our freedom (or liberty, your choice) is more important than your good ideas.

Maddy,
You might get some ideas from State Mottos. Personally, I like "Mountaineers are always free".

DNA has its own language (code), and language requires intelligence. There is no known mechanism by which matter can give birth to information, let alone language. It is unreasonable to believe the world could have happened by chance.

I would guess that New Hampshire still has the best motto!Mountaineer wrote: ↑Fri Jul 24, 2020 6:16 am Maddy,

Re: Slogans for Protest Signs
Perhaps. But you do know when NH established its motto in 1945, the best motto had already been taken by WV in 1863. They had to go for second best with Live Free or Die since the best had already been taken!Libertarian666 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 24, 2020 8:30 amI would guess that New Hampshire still has the best motto!Mountaineer wrote: ↑Fri Jul 24, 2020 6:16 am Maddy,
