Re: Forum updates
If I've done it right, I've just prevented "Junior Members" from sending private messages. That should keep bots from registering and then spamming everybody using PMs, which could easily skim under the radar of moderators.

Could be, but then drumminj, for example, deserves a promotion. He’s got over 100 smiley- er, posts. Over 100 posts.

My recollection suggests executive status is bestowed after 50 posts.

Re: Forum updates
Maybe it's 150 then? Regardless, it's not 1000 or anything like that.

Re: Forum updates
One more update: ocho mentioned in a bond thread that Tinypic (his preferred method for image hosting) was going away. This got me to dig into things, and it turns out the board has support for built-in attachments! It must have been disabled at the old host for disk space reasons or something.
I've turned it on, and it's basically unlimited. Seems that the archives of our conversations shouldn't be dependent on some third party keeping images alive. I should probably also write a script to go fetch linked images and turn them into attachments...
Anyway, when you write a post, below the Submit button there are "Options". There's a new tab next to the Options tab, "Attachments". There you can upload image file(s) and place them in your post.

Re: Forum updates
Thank you Xan. I just tried it, successfully! Works better than TinyPic.
