Tyler Added Data For Japan and Australia!

Post by pmward » Tue May 07, 2019 1:04 pm

As the subject states, Tyler added data for Japan and Australia. Thank you so much Tyler. Now the real question is, how do I stay productive at work the rest of the day with all this fresh data to analyze???

For anyone curious on the PP's stats in Japan: https://portfoliocharts.com/portfolio/p ... portfolio/

4.1% average CAGR (well within it's faithful 3-5% real return)
10.1% std dev
Deepest drawdown: 21%
Longest time to recover: 13 years
3.8% SWR

Of course, it's very start date sensitive, those that started investing in Japan in any portfolio in the early 90s had a bad time.

If you're worried about the time sink, you're in trouble. Portfolio performance in Japan is pretty fascinating!

Yeah, it really it. It's so different from the data I'm used to seeing. It is also nice to be able to see how the portfolios would actually have performed in what is often quoted as the worst case scenario. I've still got a lot of tinkering to do with the data, but so far it is a really good learning experience. Thanks again for adding this. This is a game changer.

Could other portfolio's run against the Japanese and Australian data?

Absolutely phenomenal work, Tyler! Thanks for this.

The Japan and other foreign data really speak loudly about "alternate universes" that can lead portfolios we look fondly upon to take on totally different qualities.
