Technical help needed
I'm regularly getting an error message on one of the websites I check daily...
"Error. Page cannot be displayed. Please contact your service provider for more details."
A Google search for solutions was not helpful. My normal browser is Firefox (I intensely dislike MS Edge).
No issues with any other pages and I checked other devices to confirm it is not limited to my laptop. I also rebooted the router and my computer. w/o any apparent effect
Any suggestions?

It's on the website's end. Nothing you can do.
Re: Technical help needed
"Error. Page cannot be displayed" messages are pretty common.
In this case it sounds like somebody tacked on the part about contacting your service provider as a way of disclaiming responsibility. I'm pretty sure that would be pointless. They are just going to tell you the same thing Xan said.

You mean on the same site? Or does the whole site appear to be down?
Did you try isup.me

Hold the CTRL key down in case of any pop-up blockers when entering and selecting OK to browse the URL. Also, clear cache as you could be directing to a legacy page. Also, if it requires login credentials the page could fail on invalid account username or password.
If all else fails, unplug computer, open window and toss outside.

Re: Technical help needed
If you've already checked other devices, then I'm not sure how it could possibly be anything that has anything to do with your computer.
Is it possible that the "is it up" site just checks for a page coming back with HTTP code 200, and that the "error page" is just that?

Wow. I don't know if that's what did it, but when I held down the ctrl button as I clicked on the link in my bookmarks, it opened instantly. Thanks! (P.S. I actually have done the unplug and throw out window thing. Well actually I unloaded both barrels of a twelve gauge shotgun into it. That was in the early 2000's. It was unbelievably cathartic and emotionally satisfying. Alas it was also somewhat expensive. The neighbors got a good laugh out of it though.)buddtholomew wrote: ↑Mon Apr 08, 2019 2:19 pm Hold the CTRL key down in case of any pop-up blockers when entering and selecting OK to browse the URL.
