As did I. This thread may need to be pulled since the article is now behind what I am presuming to be a paywall.Jack Jones wrote:Strange, I read it yesterday w/out a password.

Well, that article was certainly uplifting. We need more wagon pullers and fewer sitters in the wagon. And, someone at the reins of the horse drawn wagon that knows where they are going (and how to treat the horses).
DNA has its own language (code), and language requires intelligence. There is no known mechanism by which matter can give birth to information, let alone language. It is unreasonable to believe the world could have happened by chance.

I'm puzzled about one thing. If Social Security & Medicare beneficiaries are increasing because of the baby boom, then why is the article predicting ongoing steep increases past the 2030s? In 2030, a person born in 1950 would be 80 years old, and a person born in 1960 (the tail end of the baby boom) would be 70. Life expectancy being what it is, this is a self-limited problem that doesn't require any action except hanging on tight for a few years.
If there are other reasons for Social Security beneficiaries increasing out of proportion to the GDP/workforce, then let's hear it.
