Go to the address bar of your browser where you see the "http:.."

On a lot of browsers, you can easily get there with Control + L.

Ctrl + A then Ctrl + C to copy, // control A = Select All
or click on your browser's Edit & then Copy in the popup menu with you mouse.
(Your mouse's right-click might also provide those options).

Finally, when you're back here, typing your post, just hit control + V to paste
(or click Edit, Paste in your browser per browser popup menus or right-click as mentioned above).

After you have mastered that, bedraggled, but only after,
you can try a quicker way. You might be able to click the address bar, hold down your left mouse button, and drag that same link to the place where you are typing a post.
Depends on your set-up (your computer, OS, browser, etc).

Tenn, I believe that simply copying a URL is sufficient to automatically create a link. The page you linked to is handy for fancier tricks though, like changing the link text. Unless you need to do that, then dualstow's method should work fine.

Here is his take on gold and a rebuttal to Buffet's idea that "gold does nothing."
