A collection of his blog posts: http://www.investorsinsight.com/blogs/c ... fault.aspx

His website looks, well... funny for me.

That's not his website, but what do you mean it looks funny?  Hes a newsletter publisher and has been around for 40 years or so.  He ranks up there with Browne and Schultz as hard money "gurus" of the 70's that didn't fade away into irrelevance like Ruff.

By funny I mean he (always) prepares to the end of the world (not coming).

All his book titles on Amazon are a variation of the title 'Crisis Investing'.

"...didn't fade away into irrelevance"
OK. How much extra income his speculations made for you compared to a 'dumb' Permanent Portfolio or similar?

No one ever write a book titled "Prepare for the coming Prosperity" do they?

Hmmmm, maybe an opportunity there!

He is definitely intelligent and always worth reading, but he makes a lot of predictions that simply do not happen (crippling depression by 1983 in Crisis Investing, for example), though at other times he can be prescient. On the whole though, I definitely prefer Browne's market agnosticism.

He is a legitimate entertainer.

That's all market commentators are.
Q: “Do you have funny shaped balloons?”
A: “Not unless round is funny.”

Investing in his Argentina project seems as advisable as investing in the d'Anconia Copper Mines.

I like Doug Casey, but all these doom and gloom guys do is preach the same thing year after year.  And even a broken clock is right twice a day.  I would not take any investment advice from him, although I agree with most of his ideology.  I bought his book Totally Incorrect and enjoyed it.  Incidentally, it was edited by Terry Coxon (Harry Browne’s long time editor).

If you want some real entertainment you can watch Doug on the Donahue show in 1980 here:

Its really amazing because he's been preaching the exact same doom and gloom for over 35 years!
