Why Health Care is So Expensive

Here's a cute little CNN video on the topic. They actually cover the ground quite well and it's fun to watch. Good distraction from the nasty argument going on in another thread :-)

The part about the army of billing and coding workers is right on the "money". This process takes somewhere between 50-70% of physician reimbursements. Add malpractice insurance, record-keeping overhead, maintaining licensing & insurance plan memberships etc to this, of course.
Which means that of all the dollars spent for health care, the vast majority is simply going to feed the huge bureaucratic/corporate machine.
Last comment is a little piece of advice: Don't go to the ER for a headache.
