I felt like I had my soul hollowed out after that one. His episode on the Mai Lai Massacre is haunting as well. Don't expect to feel good after these, but they are engrossing.
Kriegsspiel wrote: Mon Sep 02, 2019 5:28 pm Jocko Podcast is really good.

Interestingly, he mentioned Martyrmade as one of his recommended podcasts. I don't think I've heard of anyone outside of this thread mention it.
Jocko and Echo interviewed Darryl Cooper on their latest Jocko Podcast. Haven't listened to it yet.
Jocko and Darryl's Unravelling podcasts, episodes 10 & 11 are fantastic. Recommended.

The latest episode of "Real Talk with Zuby" has an interview with Dave Smith. Real good stuff.

Lex's interview with GSP was great. He was at the top of UFC when I started watching it back in the day, and featured prominently in the "Best Of UFC" DVDs we watched a lot in Afghanistan.

Here's another one I like, Animal Spirits by Ben Carlson and Michael Batnick. They riff about financial stuff mostly. Carlson just shouted out Tyler's newest article on his blog.

Thanks for the pointer Kriegs. And thank you Tyler for a great writeup. I can honestly say that no one else has freely contributed as much outstanding financial advice as Tyler. Not many people in the world like that. Humbling.

I appreciate the kind words. Forums like this one taught me a lot over the years, and I'm always happy to give back.

BTW, if you like Animal Spirits, be sure to also check out the wider Ritholtz team discussions on The Compound.

Here's another one, lots of talk about global economics, gold, bitcoin, culture, government fuckery/anti-globalist: Gold, Goats, & Guns. His ones with Dexter White are interesting (and funny).

did anyone else catch the Making Sense podcast, Nicolas Christakis episode? EDIT: Nicholas.
It’s chock full of intelligent thinking on covid. I think it would easily click with members like Cortpassi, but I wish Murphy would give it a listen, most of all. Murphy and, if you’re out there, SomeDude and Tom.

It’s kind of long. Usually the Sam Harris podcasts get cut off if you don’t have membership but in this case the full episode is free.

i doubt somedude and tom would be bothered to form an opinion on something that has been recommended here.... especially since being banned means their opinion is not welcome...

Not only would that be way too much work, pug, to do it properly, but it is best heard in Christakis’ voice. And it’s so full of good lines, I believe a summary would spoil it. A partial listen, though, is better than no listen at all (and better than a summary).

Many, many, many, MANY thanks for this Dualstow!

You putting this here and then me finding about it today was PERFECT timing for me. It was like you hit the game winning grand slam in the bottom of the ninth of the 7th game of the World Series!

For over two months now .... I've been on this major, major house re-organization .... moving innumerable objects in every room in the house ... which definitely includes a full-house basement and a garage (the latter two filled just as much with things as every other room in the house).

Today's job was to, hopefully, finish what I started yesterday in the garage.

When doing this work ... I obviously cannot read anything .... so the choices are either listening to music or something like what you put here.

I just finished listening to all three plus hours of https://www.samharris.org/podcasts/maki ... e-pandemic and I am now going to start listening to it AGAIN!

It is so rich with so many details (which I devour). I try to totally concentrate on what is being said but my mind does sometimes drift to other things so the goal of a second listen is to, hopefully, hear what I missed on the first time around plus also embed some of the key points I did hear on the first go round.

This work in my house is now near endless. Therefore there will be plenty of time tomorrow (Saturday) for third and fourth listens!

Yeah, on the other hand, Sam's intonation is 99% resembling mine when I am reading good-night stories to my daughter (and to be honest hoping she will fall asleep in less than 30 minutes). I listened to it in parts (not finished) - worth listening indeed,

dualstow, I wrote that in some other thread, but actually it was the wrong place - 'Bond FAQ'' (which is pinned thread as well). Removed it from there, and pasting here, if anyone can answer ...

I can recall listening to 'Money Talks' (still available on YouTube, if I am not mistaken), but so far have only listened to single podcast where Craig was a guest. Having said that, Xan (or anyone that may know) is there a place where Craig's podcast can be taken from ? Apologies, if that's evident for the rest of people here, but I was not able to find..

O0 Yeah, Sam usually doesn’t hesitate or say ‘um’, but he is definitely monotone. I like the contrast with Ricky Gervais, with whom he has a paid podcast. Gervais sounds so musical, with that lilt.

ok, let’s sort this out:

Money Talk (no ‘s’) is Harry Browne’s old podcast, It’s still floating around somewhere. i think I downloaded it using a torrent client but over the years I believe people put it on youtube.
• Craig was a guest on what podcast?
• as for Craig’s own podcast - I haven’t heard it for a long time. I might have the files on an old hard drive. If no one sees them on the Internet and i can find them, I could send them to you directly.

Yes, he was, long ago. Actually, even not one, but two appearances - thevoluntarylife podcast (there is also link to it from AdOrientem's blogspot...) and also this one - survival podcast. As for surival podcast can recall a very early discussion between you and him, where he explained his affinity to outdoor activities (in other words its not only Vinny reading the older threads, but he is the only one resurrecting them ;D )

That was why I put my initial query post to the 'Bond FAQ' thread - in there Xan mentioned about taking control over crawlingroad.com and possibly uploading Craig's podcast in there. Anyway, I do not want to bother you too much - if you can find those and want to upload to some dropbox site - yeah, comes without saying that I will be more than happy to hear :D In any case - you already deserved THANK YOU

Think of it as a link to an audio file. Because that's what it is.

I should still have those recordings, provided by a kind forum member. This kind of got dropped waiting to hear back on acquiring the URL from its current owner. Let me see what I can do.
