Did you see Pat Buchanan's article today, comparing the violence of 2018 to that of 50 years ago? An interesting trip down memory lane for me and probably for you too.

According to Bryan Burrough, author of “Days of Rage, America’s Radical Underground, the FBI, and the Forgotten Age of Revolutionary Violence,” “During an 18-month period in 1971 and 1972, the FBI reported more than 2,500 bombings on U.S. soil, nearly 5 a day.”

No, 2018 is not 1968, at least not yet.

Emotional support animals might be an artifact of political correctness, but a very Republican-leaning (and early-retired) friend of mine got her dog that certification. She wanted to bring her on a long trip, and didn't want to trust her to the tender mercies of United Airlines. It was super easy to get a doctor to sign off on it. All she had to do was claim that flying makes her anxious.

It was similarly easy for my mom to get a handicap parking tag, even though she could probably outrun half the US population and mostly won't use the tag. I just figured that anyone over age 80 deserves a good parking space.
