IMHO, Jim Webb could have undercut much of Trump's support with the military, and, his platform would have been a perfect opportunity for the Democrat party to reconnect with its working-class roots.
The 4 key Republicans includes Rand Paul whom I respect and even voted for his Dad in a primary which was the last vote I ever cast before voting for Trump. But what I think the father taught the son that might not have been so good is the idea that the perfect can be the enemy of the good. AKA "you can't always get what you want".
