The New Manhattan Project
The new Manhattan Project seems to be a frenzied all-out effort to fix Healthcare.gov's website and rewrite 5 million lines of faulty code. The Prez has called in the best and the brightest to accomplish this lofty goal.

If only the Republicans hadn't shut down the government, this would have been a story for the past 3 weeks and it would be even more damaging. This thing is a train wreck. The Democrats could very easily lose a ton of credibility over this debacle. It's their signature piece of legislation and they can't build a freakin' web site that works for 400 million dollars. What an embarrassment.
Human behavior is economic behavior. The particulars may vary, but competition for limited resources remains a constant.

It's probably hard for legislators to build a website, given separation of powers and all.Pointedstick wrote: It's their signature piece of legislation and they can't build a freakin' web site that works for 400 million dollars. What an embarrassment.

They farmed it out to a private corporation, like everything else the government does. The fact that this corporation failed so hard given the enormous resources handed to them suggests that the selection process was probably driven more by corruption, graft, cronyism, nepotism, or favoritism (aka politics) than any measurement of competence.dragoncar wrote: It's probably hard for legislators to build a website, given separation of powers and all.

And to top it off, the private corporation was CANADIAN! We couldn't screw this up without international help?Pointedstick wrote:They farmed it out to a private corporation, like everything else the government does. The saying going in was, Healthcare with the efficiency of the post office and the compassion of the IRS.
It's funny because it's true.

As I read somewhere, Cruz might be a Democratic mole who infiltrated the Tea Party!Pointedstick wrote: If only the Republicans hadn't shut down the government...
