Seeking Book Recommendations for Young People
My son is 12. Does anyone have any recommendations on good personal finance books for this age and up?

The Richest Man in Babylon is probably the best for someone in that position.
Q: “Do you have funny shaped balloons?”
A: “Not unless round is funny.”

How about The Wealthy Barber? Is that one any good?

I think I read that one a long time ago, but it didn't leave as strong an impression on me as the one I posted above.stuper1 wrote: How about The Wealthy Barber? Is that one any good?

I think that's the first book on personal finance that I ever read (I got it as a gift). It really sparked my interest in the subject.

Book title: "Whatever Happened to Penny Candy?" by Richard Maybury.
Richard Maybury was a guest on Harry Browne's radio show, which is how I first heard of him. He wrote a series of "Uncle Eric" books designed for children/young adults.

12 and financial books? Really? You couldn't find a good ballgame anywhere?

Ok, Ad Orientem, what age would you recommend to start teaching your kids about personal finances?

Probably around 14 or 15 when I would encourage them to get their first PT job. State laws obviously vary on minimal age for child labor. I had a job as a paperboy around that age though.
