Manhattanhenge

Post by WiseOne »

For anyone in the NYC area, Manhattanhenge is 8:17pm today, if you can brave the heat.

Twice a year, the setting sun is in position to shine exactly along the parallel streets, between the buildings.  It's a beautiful sight, and something that you'd otherwise have to travel to Stonehenge or Chichen Itza to see.

That is neat.
I must be reading too much financial news. When I first espied this topic title, I was thinking "Henge fund." ;)

Cool!  I was just in New York...I probably could have seen a partial Manhattanhenge if I had known to look for it.  Maybe next time... :)

Dang, it clouded up not one hour before sunset.  Wouldn't you know....we'll have another shot on July 12.
