Re: YouTube Junkie
You only linked to the Spanish version. Therefore when I just went to it, I only saw the Spanish title, not the English title.Mark Leavy wrote: ↑Fri Dec 25, 2020 4:42 pmvnatale wrote: ↑Fri Dec 25, 2020 2:45 pmWhich version of the song are you referring to?Mark Leavy wrote: ↑Thu Dec 24, 2020 11:50 pmWatching l82start's movie recommendation Don Juan delMarco I did not know that the song Have you ever loved a woman was written for that movie. The movie had both english and spanish versions.

Logically I assume it had to have been this one?
""Have You Ever Loved a Woman" is a blues song written by Billy Myles and first recorded by American blues artist Freddie King in 1960."
If you follow your link, it mentions:That's the one I was referring to. Also, the one I linked to in my post. Not to be confused with Have You Ever Really Loved a Woman?.
My mistake for quoting the title incorrectly.

[It is a] fact beyond question that soldiers' battles, where one side is entrenched and invisible and the other advancing in attack, are things of the past, except in a wooded country or where all preliminary movements are concealed. We had soldiers' battles here, but by fighting them the lesson has been taught which the world will learn.

"Are We Going Into An Even Great Depression?" Got 2 min in, he talks about business operating at 25% capacity then and now, and having to eat outside, but the latter wasnt a mandate then. 30s was credit cut off, today is direct gov closure of small business.
Mortgages were callable in the 30s and the dust bowl was a supply shock, either of those could cause a depression. lib economists like to blame it all on gold.

I happen to love the song.
Thanks for the nod....however, for me, anything Genesis, including all its offshoots, e.g., Peter Gabriel, Phil Collins....is all bad music. Doesn't mean my music taste gets in the way of your enjoyment of their music.

What do you think about Jerry Jeff Walker’s Up Against the Wall Redneck Mother? Or Shadows of Night’s Gloria? Or anything by Loving Spoonful or Three Dog Night or Robert Earl Keen?vnatale wrote: ↑Sat Jan 16, 2021 6:02 pmThanks for the nod....however, for me, anything Genesis, including all its offshoots, e.g., Peter Gabriel, Phil Collins....is all bad music. The darkness will always war against the light. And the light must always war against the darkness. You either let the darkness overcome you, or you overcome the darkness. The mission: Whatever darkness, compromise, or ungodly thing still exists in your life, no matter how small, today, root it out. There is no middle ground.

Don't know it - so no opinion.
Or Shadows of Night’s Gloria?
A+. Same for Van Morrison's version.
Or anything by Loving Spoonful
High Quality
or Three Dog Night
Not much. They made their versions of songs popular that were inferior to those who originally wrote and performed them. About 10 years ago I read a book by one of their lead singers. Was quite surprised to find out that prior to Three Dog Night he'd been quite the college basketball player. That made him gifted in two dimensions - both athletics and vocals. It's rare for anyone to achieve his level of success at either, let along two.
or Robert Earl Keen?
Not at all familiar with him but you've aroused my curiosity so I know you know where I am headed to right now!
Okay after reading about him at you know where I did see that I am familiar with The Road Goes On Forever. However, I may have never heard his version - only Joe Ely's (who is familiar to me).
