That said, I do think so called sovereign citizens serve a useful purpose. They give Scientologists somebody to laugh at.

Heather McDonald describes how hard Thiel nailed it in the current university system. It's going to be with us for a long time.Kriegsspiel wrote: ↑Thu Nov 08, 2018 6:36 pm https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U0wraGG5Wx8&t=2s
Peter Thiel discussing "The Myth Of Diversity" with particular emphasis on universities. If it wasn't pointed out that it is decades old, you wouldn't know it.

What do you make of the host? I have tried to listen to Levin on the radio at night but I have to admit I didn't last very long. Had to turn him off.Kriegsspiel wrote: ↑Tue Jan 15, 2019 3:40 pmHeather McDonald describes how hard Thiel nailed it in the current university system. EDIT: so far so good with Heather MacDonald, though.
I'd forgotten about that GradeAUnderA guy! It is from him that I learned to use J,K,L on the keyboard to pause videos on youtube and jump forward and back.Kriegsspiel wrote: ↑Thu Jan 03, 2019 2:17 pm Political Correctness Manual 2019 - Things You Can't Say

The generational tech gap. I remember my sister showing our niece (by my other sister) her old rotary telephone and my niece asked how we sent text messages. I told her that we used Western Union.

I think they figured it out pretty quickly for how non-intuitive rotary phones are. The first way they tried actually made a lot of sense, but looked because I already know how to use one .

Interesting, Jon! I had to jump to 6.28, Sloppy Joe's bar. Is that where the Key West bar got its name? Just across the water...Ad Orientem wrote: ↑Wed Jan 30, 2019 2:16 pm https://youtu.be/a6KnNyPzz_0

Re: YouTube Junkie
It is. I have been to the one in Key West. Sadly the one in Havana is under new management. But I really wish I could have stopped in back in the glory days. I love how fast the booze is flying off the shelves with all those thirsty Americans buying. And I also want one of those snappy summer hats!dualstow wrote: ↑Wed Jan 30, 2019 3:11 pmInteresting, Jon! What Makes This Song Great? Ep.17 BOSTON
https://youtu.be/mrJ0xnXv_IQ
I've been enjoying Rick Beato's 'What Makes This Song Great?' series on YouTube.
Rick does a fantastic job of reverse engineering songs, so you can get a greater understanding and appreciation for the work and talent that went into making them.
In the link above Rick reviews 'Hitch a Ride' by Boston.
Enjoy.

Oh, yeah.

Long interview with Anthony Deden (Edelweiss). Echos of Harry, Buffet, Taleb, even a bit of Scott Adams in there when he talks about operating a business.

Re: YouTube Junkie
I guess there isn't really a Youtube? It would be very entertaining if there was.
I once had a raccoon blatantly steal a beer from my campsite while I was sitting right next to it. Apparently he had acquired such a taste for it scrounging around in garbage cans that he was bold enough to go for a whole bottle. Too bad I couldn't tell him I would gladly sit down and share a beer or two or more with him if he wanted it so bad.
