Thanks. I really enjoyed this one. Buffett just chillin’ in a Dairy Queen and talking about markets and value investing.

"Are We Going Into An Even Great Depression?" Got 2 min in, he talks about business operating at 25% capacity then and now, and having to eat outside, but the latter wasnt a mandate then. 30s was credit cut off, today is direct gov closure of small business.

Mortgages were callable in the 30s and the dust bowl was a supply shock, either of those could cause a depression. lib economists like to blame it all on gold.

Thanks for the nod....however, for me, anything Genesis, including all its offshoots, e.g., Peter Gabriel, Phil Collins....is all bad music. Doesn't mean my music taste gets in the way of your enjoyment of their music.

What do you think about Jerry Jeff Walker’s Up Against the Wall Redneck Mother? Or Shadows of Night’s Gloria? Or anything by Loving Spoonful or Three Dog Night or Robert Earl Keen?
DNA has its own language (code), and language requires intelligence. There is no known mechanism by which matter can give birth to information, let alone language. It is unreasonable to believe the world could have happened by chance.

Don't know it - so no opinion.

Or Shadows of Night’s Gloria?
A+. Same for Van Morrison's version.

Or anything by Loving Spoonful
High Quality

or Three Dog Night
Not much. They made their versions of songs popular that were inferior to those who originally wrote and performed them. About 10 years ago I read a book by one of their lead singers. Was quite surprised to find out that prior to Three Dog Night he'd been quite the college basketball player. That made him gifted in two dimensions - both athletics and vocals. It's rare for anyone to achieve his level of success at either, let along two.

or Robert Earl Keen?
Not at all familiar with him but you've aroused my curiosity so I know you know where I am headed to right now!

Okay after reading about him at you know where I did see that I am familiar with The Road Goes On Forever. However, I may have never heard his version - only Joe Ely's (who is familiar to me).

Average White Band - Pick up the pieces

Raaacist name for a band. Even if they are only average.

The Average White Band (also known as AWB) are a Scottish funk and R&B band that had a series of soul and disco hits between 1974 and 1980. They are best known for their million-selling instrumental track "Pick Up the Pieces", and their albums AWB and Cut the Cake. The band name was initially proposed by Bonnie Bramlett.

I will bet that not all the members of the band below were white!

Vinny

I guess if they were good instead of average, they wouldn't need to keep swapping out members until they found something that worked. :D

Also, they prob would have had more than one hit.

Another hit..

CUT THE CAKE / AVERAGE WHITE BAND

Also, that is a fairly short list for a band of that longevity and that size of band.
