p.s. Dualstow thank you for your signature line! I'm safe as blazes where I am....out of the way, unfashionable, low density neighborhood protected by geography. I briefly heard some marchers heading down a main street the other day but they were out of earshot within a few minutes.

If you mean Smith's photo, you can see it on a previous page. Here ⇢ viewtopic.php?f=9&t=18&start=48#p197531
Yeah, I spent way too much time, hours, looking at the highly organized looters in New York. Spotters on scooters. The police must be running ragged from this bs.

What, you guys don't instantly recognize a screenshot from a decades-old movie that shows none of its main characters? Duh.dualstow wrote: ↑Tue Jun 02, 2020 1:48 pmOhhhhhhh. SOLVED

I'll have to watch it again. I have no memory of John Hurt being in that. When the movie came out I was a teenager and that was just...some guy.

Of course my map may be a little out of date...

I just realized something. Under my name and avatar my join time on the forum is specified as "Fri Apr 21, 2017 4:01 pm."
Which definitely means I joined the forum when I was at work. My join time will forever be a testament to my laziness.

We now have a curfew from 8 pm to 5 am, daily until next Sunday. Wow. The people going out to walk their dogs at 9pm are going to be in for a shock.
Definitely time to stay in and watch TV (or read a paper on microglial function, in my case :-).

Does Egypt need to tear down the Great Pyramid since it’s a monument to slavery and oppression?

I'm definitely hearing of and seeing anti-asian sentiment here in Vancouver. I am hoping it does not persist. I know the recent riots and protests have been primarily of the BLM variety, but i'm hoping the general anti-racism sentiment will have a positive effect on racism against asians following COVID-19.
https://globalnews.ca/news/7033253/coro ... CnJyBeyWJAThe Vancouver Police Department says there has been a 600 per cent increase in reports of hate crimes targeting the Asian community, whether they’re of Chinese, Korean or Japanese descent.

It wasn't me...
A treasure chest hidden in the Rocky Mountains for a decade has finally been found
The Thrill of the Chase
Forrest Fenn
A treasure chest hidden in the Rocky Mountains for a decade has finally been found
The Thrill of the Chase
Forrest Fenn
As I have gone alone in there
And with my treasures bold,
I can keep my secret where,
And hint of riches new and old.
Begin it where warm waters halt
And take it in the canyon down,
Not far, but too far to walk.
Put in below the home of Brown.
From there it's no place for the meek,
The end is ever drawing nigh;
There'll be no paddle up your creek,
Just heavy loads and water high.
If you've been wise and found the blaze,
Look quickly down, your quest to cease,
But tarry scant with marvel gaze,
Just take the chest and go in peace.
So why is it that I must go
And leave my trove for all to seek?
The answers I already know,
I've done it tired, and now I'm weak.
So hear me all and listen good,
Your effort will be worth the cold.
If you are brave and in the wood
I give you title to the gold.

I wish I could be optimistic about your situation, but to BLM and their fascist supporters, "racism" means "anti-black-racism". Racism against anyone else is not only allowed, but encouraged.Smith1776 wrote: ↑Sun Jun 07, 2020 9:59 pm I'm definitely hearing of and seeing anti-asian sentiment here in Vancouver. Now I'm going to have to try for something on the ocean floor. Mixed gas access only. With clues via a first edition of The Principia. It's not easy staying ahead of the curve. I hope he survives.

Re: A place to talk about random things....
So what is real and not real these days? I've been living in a world for the last few weeks where there are no riots/protests and there is no pandemic and the locals du jour (Bismarck, as of today) made me eat two steaks whether I wanted to or not.
I'm heading to Oregon in a few days and I would a appreciate some tips on how to blend in with the natives.
Mask or no Mask?
Eat at a bar or take out only?
I support your revolution or die scum, die?
Help me out here, I'm just hoping for a Pinot and some clam chowder and some great conversation.
