First trillionaire?

Post by vnatale » Tue Nov 15, 2022 9:14 pm

As I continue to listen to this Lex F discussion with this billionaire ... Lex asked him from what sector he thought the first trillionaire would come from.

Trillionaire!!!

I'd never prior heard that word.

From what sector do you think the first trillionaire will come from?

Lex would like that answer!

The guest stated energy transformation, I think.

I apologize for the pat response, as I was on my phone.

But yes, I believe that artificial intelligence will be the next "big thing" that supersedes the other megatrends. There just isn't anything more powerful than a true superintelligence as far as I'm concerned.

You're about 15 years late.

I expect that the first US dollar trillionaire will arrive via a similar path.

For a somewhat impartial measure we could set it as who will be #1 on the Forbes richest people list and with a net worth of $1,000,000,000,000.

Here are their top ones for 2022.

Elon was #1 at $219 billion so he was "only" 21.9% of the way there.

Interesting there are no Chinese names on the list...a good way to be a target of Xi and the CCP? I have a hard time believing there isn't at least 1 or 2 up there.

I only showed the top 14. The list goes on forever.

I found the methodology more interesting than the list! Likely answers my question as well.

Thanks for the link.

Xi is almost definitely targeting these individuals. Ray Dalio, who was quite cozy with the old CCP guard, wrote a recent piece talking about how the CCP is taking back a lot of the successful companies so that they will now be state run. Dalio says he's going over to China in early 2023 to meet with whichever people are willing to see him.

My understanding is that the new politburo takes control in March but a lot of rich Chinese were already trying to get their money out of China well in advance of the October party meeting.

Tangential.

For those who believe Wikipedia is not a good source of information because it is biased .... can you point out the bias in this entry? Where would you go for unbiased information on the same topic with the same degree of thoroughness, detail, and being up-to-date? If it exists, please provide that alternative for this topic? Last I saw there was some right alternative that was supposed to be unbiased but the comprehensiveness of its coverage of all topics paled compared to Wikipedia.

At first I thought you were saying my quote was tangential O0 . Now I believe you’re saying “Tangential:” with a colon and then your comment. Do I have that right?

You have it right. You were right in the flow of the discussion while I sent it on a tangent.
