Peanut Butter

Post by Cortopassi » Sat Oct 29, 2022 4:57 pm

Vinny,

Shopping at Woodman's near my house a few days ago. My normal peanut butter is Smuckers natural chunky. But they were out of it and I saw a brand called Teddies. Somewhere in the back of my mind I remember somebody talking about it and it was you.

Anyway, it is the best peanut butter I've ever had. I'm going to go out there right now and buy a few more jars because I don't think it's a normally stocked item.

Yes. Teddie, chunky, no salt is what I buy.

This moring I gave a jar to a contractor who was in my basement and noticed the about 50 or so jars I had of it.

I explained to him that when they go on sale at Stop & Shop at 2 for $6 I clear the shelves of all available. Since they normally sell for $3.69 (I think) I am getting an immediately $0.69 "return" on every jar I buy.

Just a few days ago I painstakingly went through each and every one of them trying to read their expiration dates so I could put them all in order by expiration date.

And exactly one of those jars is full of gold krugerrands?

Never had it myself but I found Walmart ships at least the salted variety. I'll order some to try.

Generally a lot of them are filled with my urine to later pour onto my garden compost pile.

The rest I periodically put on Craigslist for free and I get a lot of people who want them.

That is actually quite a good price as I am happy to pay $3.00 on sale for a one pound (16 ounce jar). That is their regular pricing? I'll have to investigate it but I don't think the larger size comes in the no salt option.

How many rinses? And, with what? 🤣🤣🤣
DNA has its own language (code), and language requires intelligence. There is no known mechanism by which matter can give birth to information, let alone language. It is unreasonable to believe the world could have happened by chance.

Not that I ever did, but I'm not buying empty jars on Craigslist anymore!

A. They are free.
B. They've only had peanut butter in them
C. My urine jars are a set that I use over and over and wash after each refilling. They do not get given away.

So if I want PB that is only peanuts and salt, I have to stir each time?

edit: "Store it upside down unrefrigerated before it's open. Stir it really well with a long spoon or knife then put it in the refrigerator upside down. Once it sets up it should stay mixed in the refrigerator right way up"

The alternative is those hydrogenated oils.

I didn’t know about the upside down trick, but refrigeration after the first stir goes a long way. if you lose too much oil from the top early on, the rest of it will of course become rather dry. I’m going to invert the jar next time. Should help a lot!

We like Teddie's too. A favorite snack here is sliced apples + peanut butter, especially w/ apples in season.

That is probably the correct way to do it if you are using it in the traditional way.

However, I'm now only using my peanut to blends I make in my VitaMix. So for each blend I use about 2/3's of the jar and getting a proper stir is not necessary for making the blend.

When I was working in an office that would be almost my entire diet all day. Each time I was hungry I'd get out that peanut butter jar and eat a spoonful or two.

A formal office "meal" was putting several spoonfuls of peanut butter in a bowl and mashing a banana into it.

Yes. Except for me it is so delicious I think I can put about 1/2 a jar (1/2 pound) of peanut butter on just one apple's worth of slices!

The slice thickness is key. You want them thin so you have lots of slices and more surface area for peanut butter, but too thin and they snap in the peanut butter.

Seriously, why even bother with the apples. The only thing I ever add to my peanut butter is chocolate chips. :)

I have never had a slice snap but I can get a lot of peanut butter on a slice!

The apples are non-cane sugar .. natural sugar.

Now I will go off to make my only meal of the day.

Heaping tablespoon of unsweetened cocoa powder

A lot of peanut butter

2 packets of Stevia

A banana

A can of unsweetened pineapple

Water

Mix extremely well

Quick to put together. A lot of food to eat, and quite satiating
