This is not urgent or I’d post on a larger forum. Job is done.
I had to replace a door lever and the lock was old enough that I had that replaced, too. But, I was a bit disappointed that I couldn’t add what I really wanted: a deadbolt that doesn’t take a key. The locksmith thought I meant electronic when I said “Keyless” — totally understandable, but when I finally got through to him what I wanted, he said they don’t make them anymore. Too bad. I know I grew up with a true deadbolt. No keyhole on the outside. I settled for a regular one that takes a key.
I’m tempted to get one of those old style mortise locks that confuse thieves. You can see them on lockjudge dot com.
Eventually, we’ll add *something* to what we have. Right now, I’m focused on getting rid of the nicotine smell from today’s visit.
Any thoughts?
Know anything about door locks?

Re: Know anything about door locks?
Damnit, I knew it! Thank you.
We’ll add one of those.
ADDED: To be honest, we probably don’t need it. I have a doorstop that i can use at night.
