Rickards on supply chain disruptions/Government actions

What's happening in your country?
On this end, a family member lives in rural Australia. Surrounded by cattle & vegetable crops, but almost no meat/vegies available in town.
He just finished putting in a large vegetable garden at home. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wicking_bed

Cool. What part of Australia?
Hopefully free of the fires, droughts, etc. Australia’s been through enough.

What kind of shortages are you seeing?
Last spring there were shortages of my cats' preferred cat food - Frisky's canned.
None available at Amazon, Walmart, or Chewy.com. Greatly reduced supplies of it at the Stop & Shop store I go to buy my food. That prompted me one day to spend three hours going to stores in three states and clearing the shelves of any Frisky's cans that I thought they would eat.
Recently there has been even less on the Stop & Shop shelves than there were last April. The last time I went a few weeks ago there were NO canned cat foods of any brand! That was quite a shocker to see.
However, I have been getting frequent 120 cans deliveries from Amazon. Note that they go through about 28 cans a week so each of those deliveries represents about a four week supply for them.
Just about all else I order from Amazon arrives fairly quickly. However, just in case there is any disruptions in anything I regularly use .... I am building up deep inventories of all of them.

Above provided by: Vinny, who always says: "I only regret that I have but one lap to give to my cats." AND "I'm a more-is-more person."

Oh, so you’re that guy. I keep finding bare shelves, but my pet store is closing anyway.

Maybe you can suggest your "Leaders" follow Australia's example
Vinny, the cats and you will be happy. Pity about the forced labour though....
<snip>
Well, the government has now declared that unemployed benefit recipients must work several hours per week to restock supermarket shelves in order to keep their Centrelink benefits. So, social benefits are being used to draft forced labor to deal with a supply chain problem.

What was that quote HB said about the government breaking your legs and then giving you a pair of crutches.

Do they have a cap on food purchases? I didn’t see it on the Zerohedge page.

ah, this reminds me to revisit that fun conversation I had with Tortoise when this plague first started gathering steam.
