I did some back of the napkin math, and based on the average number of people I came in contact with day to day, at places like the grocery store, and assuming CDC death rate for covid, and average number of people who I might have given covid to, had I not worn a mask, and how many second order deaths would have arose, I estimate that by diligently wearing a mask, including outdoors, for 15 months, I saved 7.3 million American lives.
Have you tried doing the calculation on the back of an envelope instead of a napkin?
I still find the James Rickards portfolio fascinating.

I think you're way low because you are not considering the downstream effect of all the other (third and fourth order) people who might have contracted COVID from the people you were in direct contact with and the people they infected. It's hard to say with certainty, but with the network effect being what it is I would not be surprised if the number of lives you personally saved were somewhere over 70 million.

Of course if you were never positive for COVID and therefore were never in a position to infect anyone, maybe the number would be closer to zero.

Love it. Someone get tomfoolery a book deal.

I have personally been increasing the global food supply by burping methane mask-less all over town.

I'm not going to call myself a hero for wearing a mask, but not all heroes wear capes.

You can save even more American lives if you come to CA and wear your mask here for the next seven days. The pandemic is still raging here until June 15th, at which point the virus will disappear overnight and as a result Emperor Newsom will allow things to mostly go back to normal.
