Manhattan!

Although I've been in many of these neighborhoods in Manhattan, until I saw this I had no idea there were so MANY of them!

I know several here have lived in Manhattan?

Would be interested in knowing which ones. And, what you have to say about them (and any others that you did not live in but know about).

Is Grand Central Station in Manhattan? If so, where? One night myself and someone else walked from there to I think the East Village (and then back). That was a LOT of walking that night!

Am I correct in assuming that you must have then been at Times Square?

In the last 90s and early 2000's when I'd go to entire series of Yankees / Red Sox games at Yankee Stadium, on Saturday night we'd oftentimes go to Times Square, Park the car near the United Nations and then make the walk to Times Square.

Are there other places in this country like Time Square in that it seems like no matter what time of day there always seem to be people around?

I was actually in Reno and Las Vegas for one night each but my focus was not really on why most people go there.

in Reno I quickly walked out of the tourist area to find a regular rock club where the people who worked in Reno went to. And, in Las Vegas I went to meet my cousin who was a black jack dealer in one of the casinos and then later went to his house to meet his family. That was the only time I've seen that cousin in the last 51 years. He later graduated to be a manager in a casino and was hired to consult in the famous movie "Casino". They liked him so much they decided to put him in the movie. He was in the opening scenes. Then he is one of the managers who gets murdered at the end of the movie. In theory, I guess, when I saw him get "murdered" WAS the last time I have "seen" him!

When I see all of those people in Times Square on New Years eve the first thing I think of is OMG, what if you have to go to the bathroom?

My last visit there with my wife was two Christmases ago and the crowds of people were like nothing I've seen before which is saying a lot considering how many times I've been to Disney World on busy days. I'm pretty sure that will have been our last trip.

Crowds in Tokyo were bad last summer but the Japanese seem to have gotten much better at self-organizing to keep it flowing.

The bathroom thing as always puzzled me.

Whenever I drink liquids, it needs to come out of me within an hour to hour-and-one half.

Therefore it was always puzzling to me when I'd to to this club near my house to hear live music and seemingly everyone but me was consuming alcohol yet in the infrequent times I needed to use the bathroom, there would be no one else in it! Exactly the opposite of what I was always expecting.
