"What is your political orientation" Poll
Note: You can choose up to four choices if you believe that they are somewhat related and better describe your political orientation.

Re: "What is your political orientation" Poll
I wonder what most of America’s Founding Fathers would have selected in this poll.
Re: "What is your political orientation" Poll
Certainly not the same as the founders of Australia

As an aside, what Presidents would be examples of Far Left or Far Right?

Re: "What is your political orientation" Poll
I have a difficult time picking any of the choices so I selected other. I tend to be local and states rights, for law and order, for minimal government, for reasonable taxes, a Constitutionalist, evaluate candidates on issues important to me - best guess if nubies and on their record if incumbent, and hope my discernment capabilities are at the top of my game when it’s time to vote.

That's because I know he has a name for it, it's unique, and in no way do I remember its two word name. Anarchist Capitalist?

I'm a solid Mark Leavyian. I'm hugely in favor of any policies that benefit Mark Leavy.
Edit: But I don't vote. So I implement my policies surreptitiously.

Re: "What is your political orientation" Poll
They were not by the standards of their era. But the conservative right purists of today would never have supported many of the policies they promulgated while they were presidents.Hal wrote: ↑Sun Jul 26, 2020 5:42 pmThanks Vinny, vnatale wrote: ↑Sun Jul 26, 2020 3:45 pmGoing by today's standards?Hal wrote: ↑Sun Jul 26, 2020 2:22 pmCertainly not the same as the founders of Australia

Re: "What is your political orientation" Poll
I know you can nitpick over any individual items during a President's tenure and use it to claim what you want. But I can point to so many, many expansions of govt under Bush Jr (for example a $400 billion expansion of Medicare, the largest since it was established) to support that he definitely does not deserve the "Right" label. If by modern Right we are talking about a Newt Gingrich type.vnatale wrote: ↑Sun Jul 26, 2020 3:45 pmGoing by today's standards?Hal wrote: ↑Sun Jul 26, 2020 2:22 pmCertainly not the same as the founders of Australia

I can accept that and amend it to Right (mostly) with some Left thrown in.jalanlong wrote: ↑Sun Jul 26, 2020 7:19 pmI know you can nitpick over any individual items during a President's tenure and use it to claim what you want.
