Let the investigations begin

A Senate panel authorized a subpoena in its probe of the work that Joe Biden’s son did for a Ukrainian natural-gas company, reviving Republican scrutiny into business connections of the family of the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee.

The recordings, which were choppy and appeared to miss words in conversations, didn’t reveal any information not already made public. They focused in part on conversations from 2015 between Mr. Biden and then-Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko in which they discussed the firing of then-prosecutor general, Viktor Shokin.

Mr. Derkach said they showed that Mr. Poroshenko had given Mr. Biden room to control Ukrainian policy. He said he gained access to the recordings through investigative journalists.

In 2018, Mr. Biden publicly boasted of having threatened to withhold $1 billion in loan guarantees for international financing if Mr. Shokin wasn’t fired. In one of the recordings, Mr. Poroshenko told Mr. Biden he had secured the prosecutor general’s resignation. Mr. Biden can be heard saying: “Great.”

So let me see if I can get this straight. Per the Democrats, Hunter Biden's employment at Burisma was of no particular concern and it was a complete coincidence that his father happened to be Vice President and heavily involved in Ukraine foreign policy. Public information already includes the fact the Hunter Biden had "room to control Ukrainian policy" and that he had "threatened to withhold $1 billion in loan guarantees for international financing" to force the firing of the prosecutor in charge of investigating corruption that would have involved the Bidens. And the Obama administration was well aware of this. But per the Democrats, it is a "slam dunk" that no wrongdoing of any sort occurred.

Sounds to me like the wrong person was impeached. It is interesting that whenever the Democrats level an accusation against Trump, it turns out that they were the ones committing the alleged crime. It certainly explains where they get their source material.

I have noticed this too, along with others. If you want to know what the Dems are really up to just flip the script on the narrative they are trying to push.

Are they calling you racist? Rest assured they are the real racists.

Accusing you of helping the Russians or whomever of "interfering with our elections" and now you know that's what they have been doing.

Accuse Trump of being an authoritarian, fascist dictator and then see which states are imposing the tightest lockdowns.

I could go on and on.

That lady ambassador to Ukraine who testified in the impeachment proceedings has now been proven to have lied to congress about her claims of not having significant knowledge of Burisma as she met with them several times. Do you suppose she'll be prosecuted for lying to congress? Of course not.

Interesting article - you can tell that it's a bit biased in its outlook, but it provides a nice "birds eye view" of the landscape. It makes Watergate look mild in comparison.

Amid the flurry of details about spying on Michael Flynn, lying to secret courts about Carter Page, leaking classified documents, and more, it’s easy to get lost in the muck. It’s important to stand back, identify the worst abuses, and explain why they matter for American democracy. These abuses didn’t simply follow each other; their targets, goals, and principal players overlapped. Taken together, they represent some of the gravest violations of constitutional norms and legal protections in American history. Whether you are Democrat or Republican, whether you like Donald Trump or loathe him, these violations matter.

I don't feel we have heard the last of Hunter Biden and Tara Reade just yet. Seems it would be to the RNC's benefit to have these issues reemerge again in say........October maybe.

Yes, assuming that Biden is actually going to be the nominee. That's not a sure thing.
