Excellent. The coin looks better than ever.

Haircut: now go for the opposite strategy. Don’t let the outer edges get transparent.

Tech,

I bought a $30 Wahl haircutting kit from Amazon.

Pretty good as long as one's wife wants to take a chance.

Small possibility to get it wrong, though, and with nobody else around, it will grow back unnoticed.

With my 4th cut coming up my barber is getting really good.

And the haircut kit paid for itself after 3 haircuts.

This Wahl kit has a cord- important to me. There are other, more expensive kits, if you wish.

This post may be better in a new thread: "Personal care during the virus."???

Cheers.

We had one of those but got rid of it. We may have to get another one if this keeps up; I don't want to risk my life to get a haircut.

I'm switching it out. Ribeye, Niagara Falls, tonight.
That tomahawk makes a good picture, but it has painful memories.

A tomahawk is always $100, plus. I ordered that in Catania, Sicily while on a volcano trip with my gal. Medium rare - to make sure all of the fat was hot. Standard procedure: the kitchen will sear it on a blazing fire and then put it in a slow oven for a half an hour.

After almost an hour, I asked the waiter what was up.

Then a guy in a suit, who was clearly someone's nephew, brought my steak. It was obvious that they had forgotten about it - and had just left it in the oven. It was visibly inedible. Destroyed. Mutton meat.

(Remember, this was Sicily) Then the nephew says "Enjoy!". No sane person would have served that steak.
My response was. "Thank you. Just the way I like it." Then we paid up and skedaddelled quick time.

In retrospect, I should have said. "I would like to pay for this steak as a gift to the kitchen. May the chef enjoy every bite."
That would have been the Sicilian thing to do.

Add that one to the book - Famous Dualstow Quotes!

It will appear in the next edition of the book. What edition are we now on? 5th? I've lost track.

You could be the Punisher's sidekick, or perhaps a supervillain's henchman.
Thanks dualstow.
I'm more of a "cleaner". When people ask me for help, I tell them that they can fix the problem or I'll fix it for them. I'm quick and effective and no-one ever asks for help twice.
!!!!!!

Once I watch a movie with a teenager that had a "cleaner" in it. After it was over, he said that it seemed like a nice profession to be in. !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks! I really like how the imperfections in the gold bar add character and realism to the picture. Too many gold coin/bar pictures I've found online are "perfect" renderings that are kind of off-putting.

Okay, Smith.

You're killing it with these avatars. Is there anything that you aren't good at?
Damn. I'd marry you myself if I were gay and 30 years younger.

Dang! It looks like mine is a knock-off. I didn't know. Now, I'll have to toss it and get the real thing. This forum is expensive. That titanium one looks great. Also, the gun metal.

OK, more thread drift! For those who might want a different pocket knife, check out the Spyderco Delica 4. By far the best pocket knife I've ever had. Holds an edge really well. Suitable for lots of different cutting needs from food and cardboard cutting to personal defense and everything in between. Medium Tex recommended it to me several years ago. It's an awesome knife.

DNA has its own language (code), and language requires intelligence. There is no known mechanism by which matter can give birth to information, let alone language. It is unreasonable to believe the world could have happened by chance.

Oh man... I like it. And to keep this thread on track, I'll see if I can work it into an avatar sometime soon.
