What? You had them sit on the ottoman rather than in your chair? The shame of it. ;)

(And,
Nice pic, and suggestion to trade up). ;D

Pugs' main (only?) drawback is that they shed. A lot. Since the chair is a dark color and the pug is a light color, it was better to keep him on the beige blanket which could be washed weekly. That ottoman is overstuffed; don't worry, no luxury denied.
Excuses, excuses. I believe you are dealing with an extreme case of rationalization (just kidding of course). ;D

My (now senior) boxer, from 6 years ago. Had cats growing up, but haven't wanted one as an adult.

My pug before his health decline and his sister the Shih-tzu mix.

Though a cat person, I do love other people’s dogs.
Nice pics, Pug. My aunt in Albuquerque always had pugs when I was a kid.

I do love both, but cats are just higher. Plus, they fit in much better with my life style. I had one or two dogs from 1982 continuously through 2005. Since then I've been dog starved. Oftentimes when I'm driving and seeing someone walking their dog I want to pull over and ask them if I can pet their dog.

I grew up with one that my family adopted when I was about 5 and who passed away when i was in college.
I wish I had something better than blurry printed photos of her to share here, but imagine a mutt with mostly golden retriever features, but less than 2/3 the size of an adult golden.

She was a sweetheart. The perfect family companion to keep cats and kids from destroying each other. (Cat vs cat and kid vs kid, that is, never kid vs cat).

People with cats are always trying to convince me that they are 'just like dogs'. Why do you need to prove that if they are 'higher'. Cats are great, but they are not even close to the level of dogs. But I do agree they are less work. To each his own.
I have never tried to convince anyone that cats are "just like dogs". They are TOTALLY different creatures (although I have stated that my older cat was "just like a dog" in the way he always greeted me at the door. But that was the extent of it.) I was not trying to prove that cats are higher for everyone. They are, though, for me.

I do, though, have an extreme love for dogs. Just not as high as I do for cats.

I loved when my boss's dog (rottweiler) was still alive and I got to have the dog for a week at a time when my boss and his family went on vacation.

I'd have him with me all the time - home, car, office, softball games.

In bed, he'd sleep on one side of me while my cat slept on the other side of me. He had no issues with my cat. But he was relentless with my gerbils. After a while I'd just put them into my other bedroom with the door shut before bringing him into the house so that he no longer knew that they even existed.

I'll later dig our a picture or two of him at one of my softball games, showing him adopting the family of one of my teammates, and put it here.

He was a beautiful wonderful dog with a great personality.

While I do love all dogs, my dog favorites are the big ones - like him and German Shepherds.

Since last week we've been having our staff meetings remotely. And, since everyone is at home, a few dogs have popped into the video I was watching of a participant.

When I saw one today, I sent a message to all the participants: "Possible to teleport a dog to me?"

Also earlier had sent this to all of them.

And, from what I'd read in various posts here, I'd picture that it'd be casual me on the left and the ever dapper Pugchief on the right!

Just realized that I actually have readily accessible to me a picture of an actual dog that I owned.

This is my stunningly beautiful white German Shepherd after I'd owned her about a year.

The child in my lap was about 9 months ago in that picture. Now she's 26, just recently married, and had her first child herself not two months ago.

Of course, I still own that shirt (it was only ten years old at the time of the picture) and I probably still own the pants!

Nice Photos.

I would be interested in what clever/cute things your dogs have done.
To start -

When I was young I went to sleep on the floor. My mothers rough collie got a cardigan, pulled it over me, tucked it in with its nose, then went to sleep alongside me.

Looking forward to hearing your experiences.

When I'd bring out a dish of food in the morning for my beloved white German Shepherd Logan to eat until I put it down on the ground she'd be continuously leaping four feet up in the year in her anxiety to get fed! I'd sometimes prolong the wait just to watch this daily, amazing athletic feat!

Realized I just had another easily accessible picture with me and my stunningly beautiful white German Shepherd, Logan. The other dog was not mine. I had just met the black dog for the first time a few hours earlier. Later did own another dog that looked similar to go along with Logan. Ownership of the two dogs overlapped about 8 years.
