I’m seeing an audition for Duck Dynasty in Vinny’s future. Or possibly a move to be one of those Mountaineers who live back up a holler 5 miles past the end of a dirt road. 🤣🤣🤣

Lookin good, Vinnie! I pictured you as a bit more square. ;)

I'm also feeling just a bit of a Gandalf vibe. You're rockin' it, man.

Square? That may be how I come across here personality-wise but when it comes to personal appearance / clothes? I'm in the Casual Hall of Fame!

A few people have referred to me as Gandalf even though I don't really know who it is aside from being some Lord of the Rings character? Never read any of the books or seen any related movies.

You really should read those books, I think you'd like them. Gandalf is a cool dude, by the way.

I tend to stick with non-fiction, believing that "truth is stranger than fiction". There is so much history books that I read that are so incredibly rich in detail that I don't see how any work of fiction can compete with them.

I hadn't realized the person on the shirt in your avatar was meant to be you, Vinny. I thought it was a wizard or something.
Here is the full story of the shirt.

Someone took that picture of me. One of our players is a manager at a business which makes our team shirts. For humor he made a mockup shirt with that picture. Two sisters on the team immediately said they wanted one. Next game here we are:

Vinny. This is a serious inquiry.

Can I buy one of those shirts? ;D

I don't even have one! But if he made them for those two sisters he might be able to make one for you.

Are those squiggly vertical rails to the right of the dog some form of optical illusion?

That's a beautiful, happy dog. You obviously take great care of him.

I'm in a sentimental mood regarding pets this week as we finally had to put our bunny to sleep due to advanced uterine cancer. I'm a total wimp with these kinds of things. I broke down crying about six times the first day, four times the second day, and two times yesterday. So far, none at all today. Usually the thing that puts me over the edge is when I think of handing our live bunny to the vet who exits the room and brings a dead bunny back a few minutes later. She's buried in our back yard where she spent many happy hours exploring, but she always came into the house to sleep at night where she had free reign to go wherever she wanted, but she always chose to sleep right next to our bed, scratching on the door if necessary to gain admittance. Now that she's sleeping permanently outside I can't help worrying that she's cold, which I know is stupid, but that's how the brain works sometimes.

Anywho, the real reason I started this message was to ask you Smith1776 if you play the clarinet? I see I think two pictures of clarinets in your photo. I'm a lapsed clarinetist and big Benny Goodman fan, hoping to get back to it soon.

I completely forgot what i was going to say to Smithers (maybe “nice house / can tell you’re not living alone” ?)

Very sorry for your loss, Stuper. They say losing a pet is as intense as losing a human family member even if the sorrow doesn’t last quite as long. In my experience at least, “they” are accurate.

Ditto. I'm sorry for your loss. Death was never our intended course.

Sorry to hear about your loss. I am all too familiar with the loss of beloved pets.

You seem to be a great, loving pet owner. There are a lot of other rabbits out there waiting for you to take them!

Four years ago I lost a beloved cat I had had for 17 years on a late Friday night / early Saturday morning. By Sunday I was at the animal shelter looking for a replacement. The following Wednesday I got two kittens and one adult cat a few days after on Friday. Those four days from Saturday to Tuesday without a cat in the house felt like hell.

Don't know where you live but I assume that there are animal shelters there plus if you go to Craigslist / pets I assume you will find many rabbits available just as I do when each morning I go to just look (have a house FULL of pets) just to see what is available. I look at all the cats, dogs, rodents.

Thanks guys for your comforting words. Very kind of you. Much appreciated. This too shall pass, but I will miss my little pal. I told my wife we should get another one, but she isn't sure about it, which is funny, because the bunny loved her more than any of the rest of us.

Same here. I've not left my house overnight since 2013. I think I could get away for one night. But when people ask me to visit which would require an overnight I tell them that I have 12 animals that look forward to getting fed every morning (plus three cats who expect their food dish to have food in it 24 hours a day. Even during the night!).

I could add to this list:

Being a regular faithful player in sports leagues

Having a vegetable garden

Those would be just a few things for starters.

But I AM a certified homebody.

Cancer sucks in animals too! Last summer my daughter and their family had to put down "Max." Max's funeral was super sad. He was such 'a good boy.'

Pets get under our skin in a good way.
