The missus and I just finished watching Kung Fu Panda 4 at the local cinema. Great movie.

I have a friend of 45 years who I have never been romantically involved with but when I visited her a few weeks ago for about 11 hours .................. because she is a major Trump fan we watched a recent 1.5 hour Trump rally from C-Span videos.
I'd already seen it and I restrained myself in making comments. She enjoyed it because she is so enamored with him while I find him so incredibly entertaining.

There are some ugly cats out there, too.
Re: Daily "Check In" Thread For Us
Rare, rare exceptions. In general, cats are almost universally objects of beauty!

Lately I've even found sphynx cats to be kinda cute... in their own way.

I'm getting ready to mow the grass - first mowing of the year/season. Oh the joy begins!

Nice! It's still a little too cold up here in fridged Alberta, but it's definitely coming soon.Mountaineer wrote: ↑Mon Mar 18, 2024 9:23 am I'm getting ready to mow the grass - first mowing of the year/season. Oh the joy begins!image.gif
Mowing the lawn is a chore, but I've always felt really good after it's done that I'm keeping on top of things.

You gotta do instant coffee!
This morning the missus and I are organizing and decorating the house. All the while in the back of my mind I'm thinking of renaming The All-Terrain Portfolio as The Forrest Portfolio. Less chance of naming clash and definitely becomes personal.
I noticed a few companies have already made tangential use of the "all-terrain" term. Grrrr.

Last year, for a variety of reasons, I did not mow my lawn once! Partly because I just wanted to see what would happen.
As far as mowing goes in general ... my saying has been ... "I'd rather be reading!".
Most years I do not get to the first mowing until Memorial Day.
This year I obviously set and all-time record by doing the first one a few weeks ago.

Probably not. Vinny was mowing last year’s grass/weeds/shrubs all enhanced by gallons of human based nitrogen compounds. ;-)

I like the name change!
I do enjoy instant coffee when not at home and I’m not a total coffee snob but.. freshly ground beans, Smithers. Freshly brewed. Worth the trouble for those of us who have time.
Re: Daily "Check In" Thread For Us
My fiance is already scolding me so much for my coffee drinking that I think I need to start drinking it in secret.
One thing I like about "The Forrest Portfolio" is that forests have lots of diversity... get it?

Amen re. FRESHLY GROUND BEANS, FRESHLY BREWED. Our favorite beans are Mayorga Cafe Cubano from Costco. Excellent quality and delicious bold dark roast, very reasonably priced - usually around $14 for a 2 pound bag, sometimes less when on sale.

I guess I'll go skulk in the corner with my Walmart brand instant coffee...

Hey there Smithers, don’t get discouraged and down on yourself. There’s a reason old guys are still valuable for their sage knowledge. We too were once non-discriminating instant common-sewers.
