Is that where you grew up Mountaineer? Or does it have some other significance?
I grew up in north central WV, about 1 mile outside of Rachel (a thriving coal mining metropolis of about 600
), not Green Bank. I just thought it was a cool picture of some old farm buildings that were built probably well over 100 years ago. Green Bank is best known for radiotelescopes. It is quiet in electronic terms as to not have interference when listening for the alien communications at the far reaches of the universe. See link for a cool picture - part of the observatory.

Wow, and I'm a Star Trek fan; I do not remember a Tholian named Loskene, but possibly the Tholian web - it looked a bit familar when I looked up Tholian. I lived in Houston for the latter part of the original series. Thanks.

Good morning! What are you thankful for today? I like a beautiful sunrise. If I can't see one in reality, I visualize it in my mind.

When I first started reading I was wondering if Delaware was different than the conception of it that I had in my mind!

I visited a friend in Nevada and saw some sunrises and sunsets. Now I know what I’m missing.

Saturation. You're missing lots and lots of saturation.

Yup. The color saturation on that photo is off the charts.

Ah, ok. The Nevada sunsets had some beautiful reds, but not quite that saturated.
In fact, knowing that image was from Mountaineer, my brain initially told me it was the Lake of Fire!

On Reddit, people will often post a photo of almost other-worldly beauty, and commenters will point out that the photo has been so heavily post-processed, color-corrected, and saturated that it’s more like artwork than a photo.
Then a commenter will find and post the original, unprocessed photo, and it looks totally drab and washed out in comparison.

So your routine lately has been to break up your sleep into two chunks instead of just one? That's pretty interesting; not sure I've heard of that before.
When I lived by myself years ago while working toward my master's degree, I could access all of my class lectures and materials online. Rarely a necessity to attend in person. For some reason, my body naturally settled into its own 25-hour cycle and not the earth's 24-hour cycle, so each day my bedtime and waking time would advance by about an hour.
Under that routine, day and night lost a lot of their prior significance.

Yes, I'm not sure how that happened. This whole quarantine thing has done strange things to a lot of people's lifestyles I suppose.
I've had the advancing-an-hour-every-night thing too. That one is also a pain to fix haha. What I'm really realizing is that when you don't have work to keep you in line, maintaining a sleep schedule requires real discipline.
I'm going to keep posting on the forum throughout the day to hold myself accountable. If I stop posting before 10pm pacific you'll know I've failed haha.

Smith1776,
If you wish to stay awake, watch Invasion of The Body Snatchers- either the original or the one with Donald Sutherland.

Or just take advantage of the fact that you can zonk out when you need to. Don't feel guilty about it.
You there, Ephialtes. May you live forever.
