What is the cat / kitten situation in your areas?

I have read that there are zero kittens available in the pet shelters near me.

I just checked. Where I got my two kittens and adult cat...they now have only one dog and five cats. The week I got my three I was there at least three, if not four times that week. Each time there were tons of cats to choose from. I paid barely over $100 for the 2 year old adult. These are all going for $300 each. Must be the supply and demand at work.

Wait! Some of us have rats as pets! And, I discovered that an extreme high percentage of rat owners are female, contrary to the stereotypes of females and rodents.

Somebody took our apartment complex cat to the humane society because she's skinny (she just doesnt eat much). They said, the humane society would have no trouble re-homing her. I called the shelter and they said come pick her up. Was $200, but they chipped her. I was under the impression taking an animal to a shelter was a death sentence. Of course. Unfortunately, people abandon animals outside due to the belief that a shelter is a death sentence, but it’s just not true. Not only are there no-kill shelters, but regular shelters aren’t out there to kill.

If I was quicker on the draw I'd have caught two of mine sitting on my weight bench at the same time I was in the midst of using it to do bench presses! They have the whole house to be anywhere and that is where each of them decided they needed to be!

Some websites used today to make fun of single guys who don’t have a woman to spend Valentine’s Day with — we did not. Instead, we are giving them tips.

Your plans to pick up a woman may include getting a better job, a job, losing the Nike shoes, and selling the Xbox. Perhaps those will help, but it won’t change the game; getting rid of your cat, though, will.

The Wall Street Journal cited a recent study that says women find heterosexual men with cats to be less attractive. “Chicks don’t want a guy with a cat,” says Rachel DeAlto, chief dating expert for Match.com.

Match.com is not anti-cat either. The same stats say the “like” rate for gay men is 5% higher.

As they say, the truth can hurt.

To make matters worse, another study says women find you cat guys “less masculine, more neurotic and, ultimately, less datable.” Ouch, throw in the flag now, cat guys.

Now, to the big question: what about dogs guys? As expected, men — both straight and gay — with dogs have a 20% higher “like” rate than normal guys. Meaning, if you don’t have much to offer, get a dog.

For the straight, lonely men with cats, it’s decision time: woman or cat? Based on these studies, you will have to choose. And this isn’t a short-term decision. Should you get attached to either, you may not get a do-over.

I advise all readers to never rush to a decision, this is no exception.
