So let's get back to the question that was tossed around in one of the Trump threads:
Would you decide that the risk of the wealth tax is preferable to another 4 years of Trump, and vote accordingly? Would you vote Republican at all levels below President and hope that Congress can block the wealth tax proposal?

Good question. I honestly don't know how I'm going to vote, but I am prepared to suffer under both sides of the aisle over the next 8 years. Trump craziness here, populist eat-the-rich there.

I'll save the rest for the Trump re-election thread (spoiler alert: I'd vote for Bloomberg in a heartbeat as long as I get my Glock first), but if a wealth-tax proponent wins the Dem primary, I just don't know.

Bloomberg also appeals to me except for his age. I'm prejudiced against the over 69 candidates. Or, maybe even younger. All things being equal I'm definitely voting for the younger candidate. Obama was the right age.

Senators Warren and Sanders cannot wait for Mayor Bloomberg to jump into the 2020 race for president. They relish the chance to face off against a flesh-and-blood billionaire who has refused to endorse a wealth tax. They will proclaim that his position is simply a product of his personal greed and refusal to "pay his fair share." That should play well with the envious masses and the Democratic Party's base.

Hard for me to believe that we defeated socialism abroad 30 years ago and now we have to battle it at home.

BTW, my thanks to MangoMan for digging up the article by the CPA with a preliminary estimate of the actual tax consequences of the wealth tax proposal. The $4 million figure almost sounds deliberately custom-made to destroy small businesses across the country. With candidates like these, who needs enemies?
