Video from the 2019 Democratic Socialists of America Convention
You can't make this stuff up and it it is impervious to satire.

The video isn't up, but the article was kind of funny (and sad).
This probably correlates well with functional disorders, which the people who need to attend a symposium in a silent room probably have. No one seems to be tracking this, but it's so common that I bet it competes favorably with metabolic diseases for a large chunk of health care dollars. And the problem is increasing just judging from my anecdotal observations.

There's at least one video you can watch, it ends with some guy in the audience yelling at the speaker to not use gendered pronouns
Behavioral sink FTW?WiseOne wrote: ↑Wed Aug 07, 2019 7:37 amThis probably correlates well with functional disorders, which the people who need to attend a symposium in a silent room probably have. You there, Ephialtes. May you live forever.

I couldn't watch for more than a few minutes. All I could see was a room full of hopelessly disturbed, ineffectual people, all vying for the status of being more special and deserving of accommodation than the next. What do you suppose happens when they run out of normal, functional people from whom they can demand behavioral change as an aknowledgment of their specialness? Will they start clawing each others' eyes out?

Re: Video from the 2019 Democratic Socialists of America Convention
This is very confusing.
I thought white people were supposed to check their privilege.
Instead you have white men dominating the proceedings by yelling "Point of personal privilege" and then complaining that people are whispering to their friends.
Is this a loophole that I can exploit?
As long as I preface all my personal preferences with "point of personal privilege" I get a white privilege get out of jail free card?
Seems too easy.
Paul Joseph Watson makes a fairly mean and yet persuasive point, that if you can't stand whispering or applause, how are you going to lead a revolution?
Point of privilege!

Re: Video from the 2019 Democratic Socialists of America Convention
What do you suppose is the meaning of "Point of personal privilege?" I'm sort of gathering from the context that it means, "Forgive me for having any opinion on the matter, which is something that I have no right to have, and which may or may not be valid by virtue of the fact that my worldview has been distorted by my and my ancestors' affluence, but. . ." Do I have that about right?
You know, for all that feigned humility and self-flagellation, they're authoritarian little shits, aren't they?

Looks like it's something accounted for in Revised Roberts Rules of Order. From wikipedia:
"In Robert's Rules of Order Newly Revised (RONR), questions of privilege affecting the assembly may include matters of comfort, amplification, or safety.[2] "

Ah. . . I thought it had to do with the confession of, and atonement for, "white privilege."
