Re: Data Breach Omnibus Thread
Anyone who has been the victim of a data breach may get an IRS PIN. You don't have to be invited. Just put "Equifax breach" as the reason.

Maybe he's born with it.
Maybe it's make-believe.

[It is a] fact beyond question that soldiers' battles, where one side is entrenched and invisible and the other advancing in attack, are things of the past, except in a wooded country or where all preliminary movements are concealed. We had soldiers' battles here, but by fighting them the lesson has been taught which the world will learn.

Feels like the end of the everything rally.
In Britain they have made burglary a safe occupation. It's like OSHA for burglars.

Not so. The IRS is clear that you have to have been invited OR live in one of a short list of states to get a PIN. I tried putting in a request and was denied.
I don't get why this is, but I suppose the answer "because it's a government agency and random insanity happens" is a good enough reason.

That's terrible, when we applied, the only thing we had to put in as a reason was that our identities were exposed during the 2018 Equifax breach. Well, it's the government, there's no telling. I did it right after the breach, in November 2018, when it was hot and top of mind for everyone.sophie wrote: ↑Mon Aug 26, 2019 7:51 amNot so.
