He has a new book that came out today!

Well, actually the hard cover version came out today and will be delivered between July 19th and the 25th. However, for some odd reason, the Kindle version is not going to be available until two weeks from today - July 25th.

It is a 2nd edition of his famous Four Pillars of Investing book.

I'm quite annoyed that the Kindle version is not available today as Bernstein is on my Mt. Rushmore of Personal Finance people along with (Piper, Kitces, and Roth).

He is one of the four on my Mt. Rushmore of personal finance people and he is no lower than #2. Could be #1.

I heard him speak and met him at. Boglehead conference 15 or 20 years ago. I was very impressed with his presentation and he seemed like a really nice guy. Bought a book or two of his. Also quite good.

I had this interaction with him earlier today where I was asking a question in the Bogleheads forum (for anyone to answer) and he himself responded 18 minutes later with the answer!

I'm a big fan of Bill Bernstein. He's not dogmatic, but rather very practical. He's also the researcher that originated a rigorous and systematic idea of having an explicit allocation to gold mining stocks in a portfolio.

All my favorite personal finance people do NOT come from the sales side. Oftentimes they come from the engineering side or medical / scientist (Bernstein) side wherein they first look at all the evidence and then make judgements as to where all that evidence leads.

The sales side people tend to select the evidence which will end up putting the most money in their pockets, which is oftentimes not to their clients' best interests.
