Re: IAU flat today ??
IAU took the losses on 11-20 as the ETF trades until market close 4PM EST. Gold on the COMEX exchange trades until 2:30PM EST. The 16 dollar decline took place between 2:30 and 4PM EST. Its basically COMEX catching up with the ETF because it has additional hours to trade.annieB wrote: With gold down about $16 today, my IAU was unchanged

Hope that helps.

Thanks Budd.I didn't know exactly how it worked.
On the portfolio, looking at weekly and monthly charts,
I don't see anything indicating bonds and gold are turning
back up.I plan to ride it out as all the alternatives would
risk much higher drawdowns.I've invested about 40% of
what I planned to put in the PP and don't plan to add until
what I have invested is up 8-10%.Some here don't agree
with this method.I thought bonds and gold were headed down
when I first invested so that's why the 40%.I don't mind being
wrong.I do mind starting off with drawdowns.
I hope you'll stay with the plan.I enjoy your rattling the cage
ever so often !!

I have come to realize that investing in the PP requires patience. It takes time for an economic condition to take hold and drive the returns of the overall portfolio higher. The falling assets comprise a smaller portion of the portfolio and have less of an impact on the performance. Only at that point do I imagine the portfolio can produce your targeted returns. Of course, everything could go up at once as well. It has happened.annieB wrote: Thanks Budd.I didn't know exactly how it worked.
